Three weeks and still waiting.

Could anyone tell me how long they had to wait before the Dr.'s office called to let you know if you had met the requirements for surgery. I would love to know if I have been approved by the team and know that they are actually going to send my paperwork to the insurance. I am trying to have patients but I want this so bad that it seems like it is taking forever to get the call that they are sending my paperwork to the insurance. I went to the seminar on February 20th. I had my first consultation with Dr. Stickler(saw the dietician on this day also) on March 18. I went for my psych. evaluation on April 1. It will be five weeks tomorrow since my first cosultation with Dr. Stickler and three weeks tomorrow since my psych. evaluation. Sorry to seem so impatient but I want this so bad that I am beginning to think that maybe the team feels that I would not be a good candidate.

Jenn,I am also pre-op, I am still on my pcp supervised diet,I can`t really answer your question, but I just wanted to send you some hugs((((( Jenn))))) I went to your profile ,but you haven`t listed your bmI ? is it above 40? It sounds to me like drs. Stickler and Shin are very busy,maybe you should call and ask, about how long the wait is generally. I hope you find out soon , Darleen W.

Darlene, Thanks for the hugs. I have listened for the phone to ring since it is Friday, and that is supposedly when the team meets to make the decision.This makes the fourth Friday since my psych. evaluation. I am getting so impatient!!!! I did call and she said she would check, she came back and ask if I still needed my psych. eval. done and I told her NO that I had it on April 1 and she had me wait a minute again and came back to tell me it must still be in review then. Yes, my BMI is over 40. I think it is 43. I am on the pre-op diet and doing ok. Not much weight is coming off but think I could do better if I knew that things were being sent to insurance. Jenn

Jenn, I will keep my fingers crossed for them to call you asap!I guess that to them it is a job, to us it could mean the world would change as soon as we hear that we can have the surgery.I had asked your bmI because, I was talking to a lady on another message board for days, then she finally told me that her bmI was only 36 , all the time I thought she must know that it needs to be about 40. I told her and she was all upset.Some drs.don`t tell people this before they go to the info meetings or on the phone when they call.It is cruel .
