Hi all... I had my gastric bypass on February 17, 2004. Dr. Shin, Charleston, WV was my surgeon. (I love him, by the way.) Today is my 6th week anniversary since the surgery. I have lost about 30 lbs., less than I had expected, considering I lost 21 during the first 21 days. Anyway during the first few weeks, I had no trouble getting in the 60g of protein each day. However since then I am really struggling. Everything seems to make me feel sick. I've been "dumping" every day, even if I eat slowly and hydrate first. Any suggestions besides the protein shakes ? I'm adding an extra scoop of soy protein to each shake, but haven't been able to stomach this supplement in yogurt or anything else. WHAA. Sorry to whine. ~a.

Hi, I couldnt get my protein in for the longest time. I eventually started buying those protidiet packets from Dr. Shins office in Tropical Punch flavor. I love those but they were so expensive 7 packs for 10.00 then I went to bariatriceating.com and ordered the proplete gold pineapple vanilla I love it. I mix it with sugar free tang or crystal light pineapple orange. I can drink all of this I want. LOVE IT!!!! You can even order samples from the site to know what you will and wont like. It is really kinda cheap. I cant tolerate any soy protein it makes me gag to even smell it...Hope this helps...I love Dr. Shin too. But he will kick your butt if you dont get in enough protein and exersize, and thats a good thing. I got in trouble once....Best wishes Teresa
