WV medicaid card

I am new to posting here,I have been reading the boards for a week now.I would like to know if anyone has had WLS,who has only the WV medical card ?Everyone is so helpful here,Thank you for just sharing all of your stories

Hi Darleen. I also have the WV Medicaid card. WV Medicaid had not paid for WLS since 1995 but as of Jan. 1 they began covering it if it is medically necessary. They have a long list that you have to go by. I have just had my insurance paperwork submitted to WV Medicaid. My Primary Care Physician says that I meet all requirements and he doesn't see how they can turn me down...you never know though. I have a consult date with Dr. Tim Robarts in Huntington on April 21. Hi Darleen, I think medicaid started paying for WLS as of 01/01/04. I was taking to my surgeons nurse and she said they will now pay for it. I saw you was from WV as well. I live in Crab Orchard, WV just outside of Beckley.
