Dr. Shinn

 I will be going to my first seminar with Dr. Shinn in Charleston, WV on August 16th.   Does anyone have him as their doctor?  Is there anyone here that lives in or near Elkview, WV.  I would like to learn of your experience in having a Gastric Bypass.  I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, JOY

Hey Joy!  I'm heading out today for the beach and won't be bac****il the 20th.  But I will think of you on the 16th.  We're supposed to have wi-fi access where we are going so hopefully I'll be able to come here and check on you!  I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Shin - even though I haven't been to him myself.

Hi Joy! I had surgery w/Dr. Shin on Nov. 13, 2003 and I have nothing but good things to say about him!  He is such a nice person and he genuinely cares for his patients.  Feel free to email me anytime with questions about him or the surgery! Beth

Wonderful and caring man.  I had surgery on December 28, 2006 and I have lost almost 100lbs.  I am almost at goal.  He has the most wonderful office staff and the Bariatric floor @ CAMC is the best.  Email me with any questions.  Good luck with your WLS journey.

I  was so glad to hear from you!   The seminar was great!  I mailed my information package this morning.  From what I understand, the hospital sorts the mail and then sends it on to the WLC.  Hopefully they will get it by next Monday.  We shall see.  How long did it take for you to get your first appointment?  How long did it take to get your approval?  So many questions. LOL.   JOY

Hi Joy!  I just saw Dr Shin on Sept 25th for my consult.  I am waiting on insurance approval now.  Dr Shin seemed like a caring surgeon and I've only heard good things about him and his staff!  It took me 2 months to get in for my appointment once I finished my 6 months of supervised dieting that my insurance requires.  Dr Shin said that all of my paperwork seemed to be in order and I shouldnt have any trouble with insurance approval.  He said that I could possibly in surgery at the end of October or beginning of November!  Its been a while since you posted this...so where are you in the process now?  By the way, I live in Clay! Crystal
