Yes there is someone else out here! I have met with the dietician and surgeon, and am awaiting the psych eveluation appointment. I also have to have an EGD before the lap banding to make sure the stomach is ok. Waiting is tough, tough, tough.

so glad to hear it. i am waiting for insurance approval and my date. i'm going to upmc to have it done. my psych was easier than my nutristist to get done. hope it goes fast for you the waiting is killing me. lol

If I'm not being too nosey, why UPMC and not WVU?

upmc is a hospital of excellence for biactric surgery and wvu is not. my insurance would only cover a hospital of excellents,there are none in wv. when i went to pittsburg all they kept telling me is they were glad I wasn't having it done in w.v.

Any particular reason? All the research I have done has came back positive for WVU?

i didn't mean to scare you, have no idea why they said that. i would have had it done at wvu if my insurance would of covered it, cause i know how to get to wvu. pittsburg and finding the right place scares me, although i've been there once and now before my surgery date they have moved, my daughter howeve believes it is in the same area sure hope so.

I had my surgery done at WVU and as of February there is no longer a doctor there that will do any kind of bariatric surgery. I had to have all of my records sent to Pittsburg to Magees Womens Hospital. I can honestly tell you that Dr. Longhi did my surgery back in 2006 I was one of his first patients and I was treated very well. I had excellant care before and after. I have had great success with my lap band I have lost right around 100 pounds I hated to see him leave. They are currently looking for a doctor to come in and take over sometime in June.
