Hey Braxton, Nicholas, Webster, Clay and surrounding counties!!

Hi all! We are still working to try and get a support group started in the area in and surrounding Braxton County, WV. I am in Duck, WV (Braxton Cty). I went to the group listing and sorted by city so that I could find the folks who were in Braxton, Clay, Nicholas, Webster, Gilmer, Lewis and other nearby counties. I sent private messages to the folks I found listed in this area (40-50 messages sent) and have not gotten even ONE response! Do I just assume that folks are not reading their PMs? or that they just don't care or are not interested in participating in a local support group?? I soooo want to think that folks just aren't reading their PMs and that this is an ineffective way to spread the word about this support group idea... Any suggestions????? Lea

Lea, Have you thought about advertising in the local papers or would that be too expensive? What about fliers in local business? Kim

I've been putting up fliers at local businesses and doctor's offices..... Some of them are in very heavy traffic areas, but the tear away info at the bottom isn't disappearing (my phone and email info). SO, not sure that they are even getting noticed there. I have contacted all local papers (in like 4 counties) and gotten contact emails for each of them so that I can send them a bit of info. Most will print something for free. I just have to write it up and get it submitted! LOL As I can do it by email, it won't be too bad. I just haven't done it yet. That is on my To Do list for this week! I'm also going to reach out to other docs in the surrounding counties.... So far I've only gotten signs up in Braxton county.... Lea
