Topic: RE: Anti-depressants after gastric by-pass
Star- My suggestion to you is to SPEAK WITH YOUR PHARMACIST, the pharmacy that gave you the medicine. They go to school for a LONG time & know what works in your body & how it all breaks down!! Seriously, I worked in a pharmacy, and they have more knowledge than your doctor. Please call them!! -Jamie

Topic: Anti-depressants after gastric by-pass
AHHHHH!!! I'm so angry. Ok I'm almost 3yrs post op and I understand that some people still don't understand about the gastric by-pass and how even this far out we aren't allow to take certain things. BUT A DOCTOR??? There's no excuse for that. Ok here's my issue. I went to my psychiatrist today and tried for the third time to get on a good anti-depressant. First they had me on Effexor XR (Yep extended release which if you don't know.. we aren't allowed to take)... they changed me to the regular Effexor and after about a year it stopped working so well. Then they decided, hey.. lets try her on a bi-polar med, maybe she's bi-polar. HA! That only made things worse. I was more depressed than I've been in a long while. So, I go back in today and was all excited when he prescribed me Cymbalta. I get home and start looking at the bottle.. guess what?? Its delayed release. Can't take it either. GRRR!! So I tried to call them.. and do they answer?? Nope! Left a message.. ya know what though.. if I was to guess I won't be able to get anything til my next appointment in 6 weeks. Those of you suffering from depression know how wonderful that's going to be... -grumbles- Anyhow, I just needed a place to rant where people could understand. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Well, if you are and you like music from the 80's with a funny and educational spin, then did I find a DVD/CD combo for you! It isn't annoying and is kinda funny even if they couldn't find a country that starts with the letter X. Read my review and watch the videos and you will understand what I mean! http://luvsexytrstno1.blogspot.com/2008/04/here-comes-a-b-c-s-by-they-might-be.html

Topic: breast feeding after weight loss surgery
I am curious, how many other women have done this besides myself? To be fair, Lilith (my daughter) had already started on solids before my surgery (she was 8 months old). I would never recommend giving a baby only breast milk right after the mother has had weight loss surgery unless it is suplemented with food and/ or formula. I remember my milk was so thin right after surgery that I knew it was almost devoid of the necessary fats a baby needs but it became thicker and I got my volume back at about 3 months post op. I took Reglan right after my surgery and pumped in the hospital to maintain my milk supply. I was fortunate that on my physicians team of experts, he had a nutritionist who was also a nurse midwife! She was only too willing to help me in my choice to keep breastfeeding. She was the one who prescribed the reglan. I was the only patient my physician had ever known that was able to keep their milk. I want to know if there are others out there that have done this and what their experience was like.

Topic: New here
Hopefully we can start this board up and running. Let me start by introducing myself. I am Denise. We, me and dh, ttc for over 10 years and finally got our miracle baby girl oct 27th 2007. we were thrilled. I always swore I would NOT be 40 having a baby and GOD showed me different. lol lol I was 39 when I had her and turned 40 in Dec. I would LOVE to start trying for number 2 but I am scared as I am just enjoying her so much. Although I dont have much time to put off waiting to decide. Need to make my mind up and fast. lol lol I have or will have TONS of question possible every day. regarding feeding, sleep habits ect and so on. So lets try and get this board up and running. Right now we are having acid tummy problems. We are currently on .4 well just got upped to .8 axid twice a day. the .4 was working perfectly for about 3 weeks and then the problems started back. Hopefully since we started the.8 last night we will see a change. We are on enfamil lipil and I am always willing to take any and all coupons you may get that you dont need. lol lol Take care, Denise
