Post Op RNY 16+ mos

Good morning and TGIF! I've been rogue the last couple of days as I had a girlfriend come in Tuesday night and we spent Wednesday lounging by the pool! Which means I didn't really do any planning for yesterday! So I just threw the protein in my lunch bag and logged as I went. Didn't turn out too bad.

Back to diligence today. Took a break from the gym and man was it nice to get the extra 40 mins of sleep and shower and eat at home. Managed to do 5.5 kms at lunch at a good clip so I'm happy about that.

Today's plan

B - 1 egg, 1/4 cup egg white scrambled, slice of cheese and 2 strips of bacon

S - skyr vanilla with 2 oz raspberries (these berries are mutant size LOL)

L - 3 oz chicken, 109 gr cucumbers

S - deli kielbasa, slice of light marble cheese

D - taco salad

Total Cal 980, Carbs 38, protein 91

Have an awesome weekend! I'll be playing in my final ball tournament of the year! Hopefully we pull out some wins!

Cheers

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Morning LW's!!! I decided to change it up a bit today. It is rare for me to eat salad but all of the girls at work eat them and they always look so good so I researched what the healthiest toppings were and placed a Walmart pick up order. It's not bad but I don't think I could eat it every day.

Best theory is over use. I was swimming last Wednesday and focusing on form with the swivel kicks, then I was running/walking in shoulder deep water. Thursday I rode my bike to the office and didn't feel sore but was kinda weak (no real power). Friday I rested then on Saturday I was trying to move a log out of a road bed at my parent's farm, lifting with my legs, and I felt something go in my butt. The working theory is it's my piriformus muscle on the left side, that was activated when swimming, after years of sloth...

Miles:

I've been resting since the weekend when I injured my BUTT, yes my butt. Left side, can't walk up steps without serious pain... This afternoon I have a one hour orientation with a swimming based exercise physiologist and after that I'll walk and or run for a couple of miles if I'm feeling OK. I haven't biked to work while I try to recover from the ouchy. I'm hoping I'll be able to return to that by the end of this week!

Fun Fact - I'm in the 150s!!!!! 45 lbs to go until goal weight!!!

That's sweet of you to offer to cook for me.....

Looks like a pretty good Protein Day!! What kind of Salad dressing and toppings do you use? I bought some lettuce and was going to make a couple of salads for work but it just hasn't happened.

Morning LW's!!! I know my menus are SUPER boring!! I am a person who does not like change and having the same things during the work week is super convenient. When I don't have to plan or cook then things go so much better with the number on the scale. For the evening meals and weekends I work around what DH wants and I make the best choices I can.

Lol! Rocks in his head on several counts, such as the small amount of weight loss, probably not enough stomach removed, and lack of post op support. He and the nutritionist have conflicting theories about post op diet plans. He suggested Atkins and she rolled her eyes and suggested moderation with a focus on protein.

I realize I didn't have a lot of weight to lose, but I was hoping for a BMI in a healthy range. I'm refocusing on the basics now, and I'm feeling a little difference, although I'm avoiding the scales!!!

Thanks for your response!
