Hi there im really interested in having the sleeve done. My insurance will only cover a bariatric procedure if my BMI is 40 + or 35 + with diabetes or high blood pressure.
Im about 5-10 lbs away is there any way i can make myself a little heaver at my doctors office weigh in to qualify ? Please Advise. I feel helpless and depressed over this and im a single parent with no help.
Nice to see your post Roz. You are amazing maintaining at 10 years out. I hope I can be as successful as you!
Thanks GINA!

I've been thinking about my LW's a lot this week! Today is my 10 year Surgiversary of for my Gastric Bypass. I give my Lightweights so much credit for my success!! I'm still in my "perfect" range. 118-120. Just had my check up at the Drs. last week and I was right in the middle. Still wearing the same dress pants I've worn for 7 years. Drying Cleaning keeps them nice and neat. I get my blood work done religiously and it's a good thing I do. I've got a few low numbers that I have to work on.
My menus haven't changed much. I'm still a routine eater. I do much better when I don't have to plan meals or take to much time thinking about food. I still drink my Matrix Mint Cookie Protein shakes, eat numerous small meals (more like snacks) throughout the day like meat/cheese, raw carrots, nuts, jerky, and beef sticks. Every work day for lunch I eat a Jimmy Dean Frozen Breakfast that has bacon, scrambled eggs, cheese, and a few potatoes. Dinner is a small version of what ever my hubby eats.
Posting on this site and being afraid of letting every one down is what kept me going on some days. It's all worth it in the end. Don't give in just face every day as it comes.
Every once in awhile I check in and read a few posts but I don't see many familiar faces which makes me sad. If any of the "oldies" check in send me a message and let me know how you are doing!

I had my VSG about 2.5 months ago . My BMI was 35 . I also had no comorbidities, so this was an out of pocket expense for me. I did this for myself . I was also told by everybody that my weight was fine and that I should not do this. I have lost about 44 pounds since the surgery . I feel so much better about myself now. I have had my ups and downs, but I still feel like this was the right decision for me.
good luck on your journey!
Hi Roz, I'm doing great! Maintaining below goal for quite awhile now. I exercise regularly and everything is going well.
It's nice to see you check in. I hope you and the family are all in good health! Take care, check back again soon!
Congrats on the Surgiversary!!
Thank you. Sending positive thoughts to you as well with your upcoming procedure!

hello, my bmi fluctuates between 35.3 and 36.1 and I am scheduled for sleeve surgery this month. I am 51 and havent been able to budge the svale in the right direction for 3 years! I do have mild sleep apnea & a couple other commorbidities. If you can afford it, i say , why not? It could be just the tool you need.
I have heard many good outcomes with surgeries in Mexico, i think the key is getting a good medical tourism agency. Good luck to you
My surgery date is 10/24/2018. I m so ready to have the surg over with. Hope ur recovering well.
