thats a great attitude! I doubt I would have been that positive.
Good for you, and you are right it being a 'blip'. Its amazing things that seemed so big to me during the process are now long gone, distant memories.

so last Wednesday, 5 minutes before I was to leave for the hospital, I got a call cancelling my surgery. My surgeon was sick. I have been rescheduled for July 16,2018-not too far away. I was so disappointed but after I thought about it for a bit, I wasn't . Who wants a sick surgeon? I am still the same person, I am still on the same path, I have been eating well and developed some good habits. In the fullness that is my life, this is a blip, it is nothing , in a couple of months, it will be forgotten . Fortunately, I was able to call my boss and work that same day. I am truly blessed to continue to move forward with my life. Besides, I have already done all my pre surgery worrying!!!

I had RNY nearly 10 years ago so I don't know anything about revision. Your surgeon should be able to answer your questions.
As for the constant protein shakes, some patients to continue with shakes and some don't. My surgeon told me I would need protein supplements for the rest of my life because I wouldn't be able to eat enough protein daily.
I usually have a shake daily. There are many RTD shakes on the market now that taste really good. I wouldn't let the protein shake thing bother you.
Best wishes to you.

I would recommend that you ask these questions on the RNY or revision forums. I know there are at least a few people who had a lapband converted to RNY who post there.
Just adding that very few people have "constant protein shakes". That is mostly in the early post-op days.

Hi all, I had a band removed 6 months ago after having it for 6 years. I'm self pay and have been approved for RNY and now I'm talking myself out of it..
Current weight 194 pounds, Height 163cm, BMI 32.6
with band weight was 163 pounds
Starting weight same as now 194 pounds
I have PcOS which was controlled with the band and is now out of control again. Breakthrough bleeding, hair and blood hormone levels are high
I know from having the band in and out that it's not easy. The surgery, the constant protein shakes etc.. any thoughts? I'm so confused
So glad you are alright. When I saw you weren't posting I thought you or your husband might be ill. It was unusual not to see your posts.
I have been on Weigh****chers for a few months, but I really can't afford $45 a month for meetings. Seems like every meeting has one or two members that talk, talk, talk. Then there are the ones that talk to each other making it difficult to hear. I tried the online WWs for $19.95 but again I don't want to spend the money. I'd rather use the money for my hobbies. OH is free!!
The new WW program is very good and pretty much how I should have been eating since 2008. The only exception is fruit doesn't have to be counted so they encourage you eat a lot of fruits and veggies. I can't eat a lot of fruit even though it's healthy. Too much natural sugar in some fruits for me. Raw veggies don't digest very well. Being on WWs did get me on track making good choices and I was so happy to rid myself of those extra pounds.
The dietician that was working for my surgeon now has a bariatric website called foodcoach.me. I'm following her now too. It's free for some of the info but there is a $12 charge per month for access to the complete website. I think it's very good.
I'm really enjoying retirement. I work on quilts a lot and read a lot. Love being able to read for hours.
Hope we can get more people participating. Makes it more interesting.

I take Proferrin ES, which is heme iron, so it is more absorbable and has fewer side effects (e.g. constipation, nausea). I buy it from the company's Website or else you can purchase it on Amazon.
Many use the iron patch from Patch MD. I have ordered them but haven't started them yet. I also take oral iron Proferrin.
Good to here from you Roz. I hope all is going well for you and your husband and family.
Thanks for stopping by!
