CARBS ARE NOT THE ANSWER!!!!!! I definitely wouldn't cut back. I thought I was done at 8 months so I increased my calories with Protein for 3 or 4 days and then I cut back. It jump started the scale moving In the right direction and I lost another 27 pounds.
Like the Variety!

Yay for Friday!
Coffee with cream to start the day.
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with added protein.
Lunch: 2 Hard boiled eggs.
Dinner: Dunno yet. Hubby comes home from DC tonight, maybe we'll go get burgers. (Nope-I don't eat the bun.)
Weird, I've wanted eggs twice today, usually just the thought makes me sick. They went down and are sitting well, maybe eggs are back on the menu? Hopefully.
I'm still not especially hungry, so I'm taking advantage and keeping my calories low. I know once I get active again I'll be eating a lot more.

Miles - I'm really happy that I've been able to significantly increase my steps over the past week :) It's not great, but I went from an average work day step count of 1500 to 4500 I was able to get between 8 and 10 K steps in on Saturday and Sunday which totally made me happy!

I'm new here so I don't know you're history, but god knows I've had a lot of diet experience over the past couple of decades!
Things I've found that have helped break a stall include the following:
1. Fast day of liquids only and total calories under 400 (usually just one day but I've done this for two days a week for a couple of weeks at times).
2. Back to back higher calorie days then a fast (like 1700 calories of good quality food).
3. Stomach flu (just joking)

Happy Friday morning all! We made it. Desperate times call for desperate measures. WTH ... down 1.1. lbs....up 1.2....net up .1. I'm ready to give up. Clearly my body has said enough. Well we'll see about that. One last ditch effort....I don't think I'll be at the gym this weekend so maybe a couple days of liquid diet will kick that scale in the numbers (I can't do that when I have a workout because I wouldn't get through it). Or maybe I'm done, but at 11 months out, I would have thought there is more to lose. Sorry to keep whining about this but I'm a person that needs to understand the science and this case I just can't. Sitting at 189 you'd think I could lose with a daily calorie intake in the 1000 - 1100 range. Will discuss at my 1 year follow up but I'm sure they'll tell me to eat more carbs....is that the (right) answer?
My blood work all looks good (to me) with the exception of a high phosphate level, I have no idea if that's important or not, again, we'll see on April 6th when I see the doc.
B - premier protein shake
S - skyr yogurt with coconut clusters (20 gr for crunch)
L - Chicken taco salad (restaurant)
S - deli turkey (4 slices)
D - premier protein
Total Cal 734, carbs 34, Protein 114
If I need something tonight it will be more deli turkey or another shake.
I ended up leaving work early yesterday to take a friend to her dissolution and then for recovery adult beverages, and then to the airport.
Lets see...
Day started with missed breakfast and then a very late lunch...
Mussels in tomato sauce (so good)
Raw (fresh) oysters (healthy and good!)
Crusty bread to dip into the yummy tomato broth... yeah that was a bad idea...
Peach Sangria (also, not a smart food choice but they were half price!!!)
Long Island Iced tea. oops.
Then when I finally got to my "home" (husband lives there still, I'm staying in an apt) I made Deviled Eggs with eggs so fresh they were a bear to peel, and chicken and dumplings. We had about eight people over last night and just enough food.
I also had a ChillWave IPA.
So Thursday was really my "horrible example" day.
Five days till surgery.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

My husband makes me promise all of the time not to put him a nursing home when he gets older. I'm going to feel so guilty if it gets to that point. Me on the other hand tell my girls to just take me and drop me off because I don't want to be a burden to any one.
