WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Morning LW's!!!! Thanks to those of you who started M&M for me!! We got home from the competition this morning at 4am and I had to be at work at 9am. I was actually going to take vacation day but why waste a perfectly good day because of lack of sleep....so I called our Director and he said it was ok for me to come in.
My lack of Protein this weekend plus an outrages amount of steps made my scales go crazy this morning. I'm hoping for a much better number in the morning....

Been a while since I've seen a Sunday weigh in, but I still weigh myself a couple times a week.
Still right between 118.4-119.8
I've been at this weight for about 6 weeks. Though, to be honest I'm not trying to actively lose weight. I do still plan to drop another 10-15 lbs, but can't think about that right now.
Next week I'll be working on going very low carb to see if I can get a few pounds off before my trip to Florida to visit the newest grandson. We'll be there a bit more than a week, and I expect to stay very active so I'll probably lose a pound without dieting. When I get back on Sunday, we have plans to have Easter dinner with just the family, and I hope for lots of ham leftover. I want to do AMAW right after Easter to see if I can drop another 3-4 pounds. (Hopefully!)
Anyway, happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday, everyone.
I ended up making a dozen burgers last night, and I still had some leftover, so I put them in the crockpot and made "Salisbury steak". It came out pretty tasty. Now I have several days worth of meat for lunch when I'm too busy to cook for myself. Super simple. Ground beef patties from costco, and a packet of gravy mix with 2 cups of water. I seasoned the meat but the recipe online didn't call for it. I think it was the right thing to do.
Today, haven't eaten yet and I'm hungry! Our dryer went on the fritz last week, and I happened to have an extra set in the garage from before I lived with my husband (9 years ago) and so I brought it inside and ordered the part for the dryer. Well, last night hubby said the washer kept giving an error code indicating the pump is going bad. Damn the luck! So today I've been draining the washer, moving the old washer inside, cleaning the old washer and moving the current washer back out into the garage. I'm so tired of repairing this dumb set! Argh, I'm putting my foot down, I am getting a new washer/dryer or else!
I've had 2 scoops of Unjury unflavored protein in 2 cups of coffee, plus some iced tea earlier. The plan is to eat lunch and go get the shopping done, then come home and make dinner. Dinner is TBD while shopping. LOL
Coffee with protein.
Breakfast: Nope
Lunch: 2nd Coffee with protein.
Snack: Salisbury steak.
Dinner: TBD.
Protein: Shake - Premier chocolate.
Hope everyone has a much more relaxing Sunday than mine! Hah.

Good afternoon LWs!
It's been a rough week, sinus infection had me knocked out! Ugh, spring.
Today I'm getting back to high protein, I've mostly only had liquids for a few days. Broth and soup, a few saltines last night. I'm finally feeling some strength again.
PreB: Coffee
Breakfast: Steel cut oats w/ unjury unflavored.
Lunch: Small chicken breast with a few green beans.
Snack: Banana and pecans
Dinner: Burgers
Probably add a protein shake tonight to get over 100g.
Happy weekend, friends!!

Post Op 11-1/2 months
TGIF Hello LWs, finally the end of the week and the end of the month! Bring on Spring. Another gross grey and wet day in store, and another boring day at work. The indoor track is closed today and I'm not running in the rain. Will go to the gym after work and do some time on the treadmill....post workout day 2, that's when the pain settles in. My legs are so sore, but that's a good thing, I guess, means I did some work the other day.
Anyway eats today:
B - premier protein chocolate
S - 4 slices deli turkey with mustard
L - 1-1/2 turkey sausages
S - 2 hard boiled eggs
D - 2 ribs
Total - Cal 916, carbs 12, protein 114
Have an awesome Friday.
I know this is a little older post, but wanted to respond anyway. I'm new here and have my first appointment next week so I'm not sure how long it will be until surgery.
My reasons for going through with WLS are many. I am 5'1" and weigh 256 lbs. My BMI is about 48. I am a type 2 diabetic with uncontrolled blood sugars often in the 500's. I also have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease. I've thought about this for years, but saw my primary practitioner last week who asked me if I have ever considered it. I made a snap decision right then and there. I am tired of the struggles. I have been diabetic for 10 years and have struggled losing and regaining the last 30 pounds for nearly 15 years. I have 2 teenage sons and I am only 34. I am a single mom and I want to be around for them. Right now I am leaning towards RNY because it offers the best result statistically. I know you can be successful with all WLS and that it depends on your efforts, but I feel RNY is the best choice for me. Of course I still need to meet with the surgeon so I might change my mind.
My family is upset. My mom and sister are both MO but think I should just lose it myself. I have tried. It won't stay off. I've even worked out and ate right for an entire years just to lose 10 pounds and gain back 20. So frustrating. In the end we have to do what's right and best for us.
Best of luck!
Hi, I'm Ginni. I think I belong in this group. My current weight is 256 and my goal is 115 pounds. So I need to lose about 141 pounds. I am just starting this journey and have my first appointment next week with the nurse and nutritionist. I am so excited to be taking the first step!
I'm so ready for the weekend.....always. I retired in 2012 and loved it then a year later I started working for a temp service. Last tax season I worked for a tax preparer and didn't like it at all so I swore I was going to retire after that job. I didn't work again until August. The job was supposed to be for 30 days and now I'm a full time employee as of February. My husband was in the hospital and rehab the whole month of June so there were some huge bills. I work with great people and the job is 5 miles from home. Hoping I can retire for good by the end of the year.
Today:
Peanut butter shake (12g)
Oatmeal
Pot stickers; carrots & cauliflower; Jello
Quest bar (20g)
Burger (no bun); air fried eggplant.....went in the trash
Premier Protein (30g)
