I yesterday morning I ate an egg souffle from Panera and had a bite of the flaky crust... DUMPING! Last night at my sister's I ate plain yogurt with a pack of sugar free Jello mixed in, while the family ate pizza's my sister made worth her amazing home made crust!!! I wanted just one bite but the memory of the dumping... No way!

Topic: irrational self doubt, help!

Despite my best of intentions, here I am being that recent WLS patient who is freaked out her weight isn't dropping off like magic!

I had my RNY on March 29, my recovery has been fast, I haven't taken so much as a Tylenol since the first week. When i got home from the hospital i wasn't phased that i hasn't dropped a pound (actually was up a pound). I knew it would take time! Then in a matter of days i dropped TEN!!!

Now my body is healing, I'm probably building back the water soluble energy stores, I KNOW my excess weight is going to came off! I have a fancy scale that shows me that my body fat % is dropping a little every day, and that is the goal, right??? I know better than to doubt myself, i know better than to base this on my weight...

I'm wondering if maybe as a WLS Light Weight, I should expect the first couple of months losses to be less spectacular than it is for those with over 100lbs to lose? Can some of you share your losses the first few weeks/months?

I'm oh so grateful for dumping right now. I bought the kiddos some Cadbury mini eggs and I'm so happy that I'm afraid of dumping enough to control myself. Whew. They are yummy, but 3 hours of misery is a fabulous deterrent. Lol.

I agree 100%!!!!! I've had a couple pieces of miniature chocolate pieces and that started the sugar battle again!!! I even have a problem when I eat Breakfast bars so I avoid them. My Nut bar doesn't give me the cravings because it fills me up.

Sounds Good!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Afternoon LW's!!! Coloring Eggs tonight!!!!

Hello to All ~ I'm doing better getting in my protein. I think I've lost my craving for sweets. When I was eating too many carbs, I thought I was hungry all the time. Carbs make me crave more carbs.

Today:

Premier Protein (30g)

Quest breakfast bars (12 g)

Egg Salad; rice crackers; banana

Peanuts/Roasted Chickpeas

Sloppy Joe w/o bun
