I am feeling hungry but I'm pretty confident it's head hunger. Like right now, I have't had my afternoon snack because I'm not "hungry" for an egg. But if someone were to offer me Mac and Cheese? so yes, head hunger ;)

Wow that is quite a bit.
The only thing that had any ground meat was chili and even then it wasn't but an ounce or two. I ate a lot of eggs (still do), yogurt, cottage cheese, tuna, and every morning I would have a protein shake made with unsweetened almond milk. I used isopure protein powder. High in protein zero sugar and minimal carbs.
Now you may not like ground chicken or fish, but those two things are high in protein while being low in calories. Lamb I see is high in calories, but not as high in protein at least that is what I am seeing on-line.
Let's break this down and move things around so you can see that high protein and low calories can work.
B: Isopure protein with unsweetened almond milk (2 scoops of powder, 8oz almond milk) Cal: 250, Protein: 51 grams, Carbs: 4
Snack: Deviled egg Cal: 128, Protein: 6.2 grams, Carbs: .6
Lunch: 3oz Ground chicken Cal: 120, Protein: 23, Carbs: 0
Afternoon snack: 2oz reduced fat cottage cheese Cal: 51, Protein: 7.8, Carbs: 2.1
Dinner: 3oz baked haddock Cal: 90, Protein: 20, Carbs: 0
No evening snack.

Sorry for two replies, I should have read ahead. But don't worry about dropping powder. Use that to your heart's content. Just drop the bars, and I use those in a pinch when I need to (airplanes!).
But, 13 weeks out I'm drinking a full Premier Protein per day to get in my protein. My target is 60-80g and I'm getting in around 80-90g but not without that 30g boost!
I would totally drop your calories and see what happens. I promise you, you can get in the protein and vitamins and still feel wonderful!
Edited to add: Are you feeling hunger?

I'm really surprised with RNY you can fit in those portions so soon. I'm 14 weeks out from VSG and I can't do more than a 2oz portion of any meat or fi****arget 550-700 calories per day. I've been targeting that since about 8 weeks, but where at 8 weeks I was around 550 most days I'm now around 620-640/day. My goal from my surgeon is to be at 800 calories around 6 months out and 1,000-1,200 at a year (or maintenance).
Now, I'm not saying they are wrong because I'm no veteran and truly that's just MY plan. But, I'm wondering if you have less loss because you moved so quickly from liquids to foods and those portions and therefore didn't get that jump start of essentially starving yourself for the first few weeks (hey, I'm nothing but honest right?).
I did a full 2 weeks of full liquids (yogurt, being the only thing I ate outside of shakes) and then 2 full weeks of soft foods (I added eggs, some soft cheeses, tomato sauce, flaky white fish). Then I was able to slowly introduce other foods. I just added ground beef this past week, and still haven't done any veggies that weren't steamed to mush (and then only a bite).

Breakfast - Light Greek yogurt
Lunch - Sashimi (salmon - 85g)
Afternoon Snack - Hard boiled egg
Dinner - chicken breast (3 oz) and zoodles (half a zucchini ish)
Evening snack - Chicken larb (about 1/3 cup)
Total Calories 450, 16 carbs, 62 g protein.
Exercise - I'm still just walking - I walk down a couple of flights of stairs, across the basement of the office building, up one flight, then I take the elevator up the next one. I must say, the only time I feel like I've had major surgery recently, is when I'm trying to climb steps!!!

Here is my highest calorie day. I'm not proud of this and it wasn't a great day...
Breakfast- 1/4 premier protein shake w/ decaf coffee
Morning Snack- Deviled egg (One egg or two pieces)
Lunch - 4 oz cottage cheese
Afternoon snack - 3 oz. of ground lamb (burger)
Dinner - 3 oz. ground lamb (other half of burger)
Evening Snack - protein bar (split in two, over two hours)
total calories 930, 74 g protein
I only ate the protein bar because I hadn't hit my 70 g of protein for the day. I was feeling ill most of the day, the lamb was really not fun.

It's disconcerting how many on the medical side seem totally disconnected to what is really happening out here. I sent a note to the physician who oversees the nutrition side and asked him about the number of post RNY patients who maintain at a very low calorie level (under 800 cal/day). His response was basically "Oh that's because they didn't have quality patient education and they've reverted back to poor food choices." (paraphrased). Uhm... NO.
I'm revamping and cutting out the "fake" foods like the protein bars. I'll probably keep the powder to mix into my yogurt and cottage cheese.
My problem here is that I REALLY WANT TO BE COMPLIANT. So I'm trying to do exactly what is recommended.
I would rather drop my calories and really leverage the 'honeymoon' stage, than go slow and steady and never meet my goals!

I have to be honest here your nut is a nut. That is way to many calories this early out.
For the first 3 months I was eating 500-600 calories a day. If she wants you eating 1000 calories a day at only a month out I hate to tell ya, but your weightloss is going to be very, very think snail slow. And the further you get out the harder it is to lose the weight.
For me maintenance is around 1000-1100 calories a day. In order for me to lose more weight I have to drop to 700-800 calories.
Hello LWs. I had a glorious day yesterday!! I took the doggies for a good walk in the morning and then spent the rest of the day on the deck in my swing chair reading a book! Got a little sun burnt!! I wanted to go to the gym but couldn't bring myself to go in outta the sun! That's my excuse anyway!!
Tonight I'm going with a couple of girlfriends to a Paint Nite. We opted for dinner as well, so mine will be fish and salad (had to pre-order). I used to do crafty painting so hopefully I don't suck at this! Its a glass of red wine on the arm of an Adirondack chair on the beach!
Eats today
B - 3 oz beef, 1 egg
S - 2 oz blueberries, greek yogurt
L - caramelized onion and swiss meatballs
S - deli turkey
D - fish and salad
Have a great day.
I'm very surprised you can get 700 calories in a day. What are you drinking/eating? I struggled with just sipping early out.
Roz
God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
