Good morning! Well lets just say I'm not an artist!! But I had fun hanging out with the girls last night for paint night.
I didn't do my run yesterday afternoon, I just didn't have the gumption....some days I just can't make it happen. Today is regular run day so hopefully some of the others are there today, that helps with the motivation. To the gym tonight for a good weight training work out, and a little more cardio. I usually finish up with about 20 mins on the treadmill at a 20% incline moving at a good clip!
Eats today are pretty good I think:
B - 1 egg, 1/4 cup egg white, 2 strips of bacon
S - 100 gr greek yogurt, 2.45 oz of blueberries (fresh)
L - guts of a chicken shwarma (3 - 4 oz chicken) the restaurant we did painting at is right beside the awesome shwarma shop, so scored me a good lunch!!
S - cucumber, 4 slices deli turkey
D - hamburger, with tomato and onion and pickle, mustard
Totals - Cal 878, Carbs 30, protein 103
Have a great Hump Day, weekend is soon here again! YAY
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
DH took a relaxing med this morning so he could have an MRI done and then he was told they couldn't do it because he didn't stop taking his baby aspirin which was totally his fault. Now he's home sleeping it off. 8+ yearsBreakfast:

I actually haven't eaten pretty much any veggies....in 15 weeks I've had a bite of broccoli, a bite of cauliflower. Occasionally red bell pepper has been mixed in with things. I ate a slice of tomato this week for the first time and I've had tomato sauce a few times. I eat Edamame occasionally. I did make the Avocado dip I referenced above once and had a TBSP of that, but it was too spicy (I was early out and used fresh pico!). I eat salsa pretty regularly in eggs or to make "tacos".
I do miss my veggies though. Quite a lot!

OMG I LOVE smoked salmon! The mushroom caps were stuffed with crab. I was trying to find a small portion item that was protein forward at a bar (went out with a friend). There were only four caps, and I figured we could split it. The avocado was just because I felt like I wasn't getting ANY veggies in and it was soft and delicious ;-)

You need to add cheese! That's my go-to for snacks and um, it's cheese! The Avocado has pretty much no protein (though it's yummy). Eggface have a great Guac recipe that you add cottage cheese to that would make that more high protein.
What's the protein in the mushroom caps? I find whenever I add in something else to my protein I don't get the same bang for the buck. Do you like smoked salmon? It's so good with laughing cow cheese.

Funny enough, I have had boundless energy since about 6 days post op! That was through 2 weeks of liquid pre-op and then 2 weeks post op and then purees!

The center where I had my surgery has moved away from the two weeks of liquid. They had me on clear liquids for the first day post op, then transitioned me to liquids for the next couple of days, then pureed. I had my surgery on Wednesday, was totally restricted from anything by mouth for that day, then Thursday I had clear liquids, and Friday clear liquids in the morning, but transitioned to liquids (including yogurt) for the evening (was discharged Friday). On Monday I had my followup appt and I was moved to pureed foods then. The general idea is to get the patients to "food" so that they can take in more protein and not go through the exhaustion part of recovery. After ten days of pureed, I was moved to soft foods. Right now I'm not supposed to eat any raw veggies, or raw leafy greens like salads, and no nuts or seeds. After six weeks I'm a free elf and able to introduce carrots etc..
I'm sure you're right, the move to help us feel more energized early on probably "robs" us of some of the fast weight loss.

I like what you did there ;-)
I do prefer fish, the lamb burger was an option at a restaurant, and I was feeling sorry for myself because I didn't get my roast lamb for Easter. Normally I eat fish almost every day if not twice a day, and chicken. I just recently moved off of my farm, so I still have a freezer full of my own, home raised chicken. And I visit the farm every week so I have all the fresh free ranging chicken eggs that I can eat (our chickens roam their yard, and beyond into the big pasture).
here is a more typical day from last week:
B- egg
MS- protein bar (now I'm cutting these out, and the one I had this day cause dumping!)
L- Cottage cheese
AS- Half an avocado
D - steamed mussels
ES - crab stuffed mushroom caps (2)
610 calories, 52 g protein
