Topic: RE: Considering DS

You can see by my signature and stats below that I had less than 100 pounds to lose. My eating habits clearly showed I was a terrible grazer and needed a lot of help. My surgeon recommended the DS for grazers and people who could easily "out-eat" most other surgeries. I have been very successful with the DS and will celebrate my 10-year surgiversary this summer. Ask anything you'd like, I'll answer.

Topic: Considering DS
Hello, I'm a LW at 176 and considering DS in a few weeks. I'm 40 pounds heavier and have spoken to the surgeon who feels the DS will help me but I'm getting some conflicting reviews. I literally just want help. So if anyone has been in a similar or bear similar experience can you please share your story.

Welcome to our LW site JP!! We've had a few men over the years join us and they've been very successful. A few husband/wife teams too but the men are usually more successful and can stick it too it longer.

I've been trying to get my hubby to loose a few pounds but he's not agreeing to it....LOL. He's 5'10.5 and weighs in around 240 and it's all in his stomach.

I'm not sure how I'd feel if my DH (darling hubby) listed his golf cart/guns above me...... He retired last May and and is constantly exploring on the 200+ acre's that surround our neighborhood. I think the golf cart is one of the reasons he has gained some weight since retiring.

Glad you joined us!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Afternoon LW's!!!! Finally a warm day since we got home from Florida and it looks like it's going to stick around awhile....YEAH

Not often but every once in a while his posts pop up. Do you like cats? I love them but Don is sooooo alergic! Since we live in the country we tried outside cats but they won't stay off of the outdoor furniture so that didn't work out so good.

I'm looking for a new Protein powder any suggestions?

Sounds Good!

Afternoon LW's!!!! This was a fun filled weekend with family. After church we all attended the Mother's Day tea at the Nursing home with my Mom. I'm used to it but my DD's and grandchildren were very sad that the dementia is in full swing now. I don't encourage them to visit her on a regular basis because the commotion upsets her so they haven't seen her since her birthday in October. I avoided the sweet desserts they were passing out. We had a family cook-out after that and I felt very lucky that we all got to share Mother's Day together.
