I'm glad you found a job you like. I love my job!! I do the accounting for Child Care Information Services. I pay the day cares for families that are eligible based income etc. DH retired last May but I have a couple years yet before I'm eligible and then I'm not sure if I will do it any how. We will be really hurting financially if I do.

I'm also glad you posted! If only a handful of our "viewers" posted I would be on Cloud 9!!

Sounds like an Awesome Protein day for you!!!!

Topic: New today

I am 6 weeks out and just now feel like my stomach/insides are working themselves out. My energy levels post-surgery were (and continue to be) great; however, I have had some insomnia lately which is why I am awake and perusing the posts here on OH.

Tonight, I am headed to my first support group since surgery. As a lightweight, I look at the numbers and wonder if I'll get there. Not because I don't think that it is possible, but because it has been so darned long for me.

My struggle to date is remembering to take all of my vitamins. Any suggestions or tips?

Glad to have found this lightweights forum.

Can you believe it....I'm posting. I don't always get on the computer at night. All day I'm on the phone and working on the computer with an Excel spreadsheet. I work for a health clinic that serves the uninsured and Medicaid patients. My job is contacting patients to get them to make an appointment rather than go to the ER. So many make appointments and never show up. I never knew there were so many ways to say the number is wrong. There are more wrong numbers, numbers not in service, not accepting calls, etc.

I was always an Administrative Assistance and used to a variety of work. I do have great co-workers and I earn vacation and get paid for holidays so that's better than working as a temp. My plan is to wor****il the end of the year and retire for good.....if I can hold out that long.

Today's eats:

Premier protein (30 grams)

Pistachio pudding

Pork Loin; green beans

Quest bar (20 grams)

Premier clear protein (20 grams)

Johnsonville sausage; Pistachio pudding

There was an entry form on OH's main page. I entered and promptly forgot about it. They emailed me that one of the winners didn't respond so I won. There were 10 winners I think.

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Topic: RE: Considering DS
Wow, you've been very helpful. You answered some of my biggest concerns. And realizing everyone is different I do take what you've said for what it's worth.....your experience. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am terrified about doing the DS and feeling hungry and then also about losing too much weight. The surgeon says no because of the malabsorption it and the fact I can still eat a lot. I am so screwed up in the head about my weight and how I look.

I am looking at being a self pay. I've been researching and researching and I'm just nervous about the surgery and how I will feel physically after. I'm a very active person and to think I could be in pain or in recovery 6-8 weeks later would be a lot. My VSG recovery was a breeze. I can only hope for a second go round.

To your point about re-sleeve. I don't think they will touch mine and that's fine with me. I eat a normal or below normal amount of food. Where I get screwed is in the frequency and maybe not always the best choices. I am not a snacked but I'll nurse the heck out of a potatoe and steak. Lol. Anyway, it's a lot to consider.

Have you lost much since surgery? Are you able to do regular errands like grocery and or post office?
