Good morning!
Just dawned on me that I am 7 years post op this month.
So glad my type 2 diabetes is still in remission. That was my main goal. Still struggling with regain and bouncing, but my tool still works when I work my tool!
What a blessing OH and the LW's have been on my journey.
With much love and gratitude!

Sounds like a good conversation to have with your surgeon. For me, rny was the route to go, but I am type 2 diabetic, and the rny has had me in remission for 7 years.
Good luck!

Hello, Hello, Hello! I'm on the computer all day along with the phone so when I get home, I don't always get on my laptop.
I'm doing better getting my protein in and the last 2 days I've ridden the stationary bike for 30 minutes. After getting in the habit of flossing my teeth every single day since I got them cleaned, surely I can make exercise a habit. I can read on the bike so that helps.
I really like IdealShake but it only has 11 or 12 grams of protein. The Premier Protein Clear is also really good.
We're moving on August 11th so we're packing things we don't need and I'm getting rid of things. Some pictures I've had for 20-25 years so it's time for some new ones. I'm really anxious to get into the new place, but moving is such a chore.
Eats today:
Click shake - 16 grams
1/2 Quest Hero - 6 grams
Turkey burger; chopped salad; peach - I need to look up the protein in various foods.
Premier Protein Clear - 20 grams
1/2 Quest Hero - 6 grams
Turkey dog; green beans
Click frozen treats

I got to 3 lbs away of my goal weight . . . 3 lbs! Then, for years and years I bounced between 150-170 lbs, was content at the lower end and would kick myself in the rear when I got to the higher end. I had a bad shoulder injury earlier this year, coupled with peri-menopause, and I am now up to 183 :(

I have been posting on the other thread in the RNY forum, but if ya'll don't mind I'd like a more intimate group to share my daily meals with :)
This is Day 3 of my reboot! So far so good, and my sodium intake is much lower than the last two days. I switched out my Unjury afternoon chicken soup for a Premier Protein Chocolate Shake (dang, those are GOOD! Just bought today!)

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

I NEVER thought my DH would adjust to Retirement but he is loving it way to much!!!! He has always been a really hard worker and always busy but he is acting like he is retired from doing anything....LOL. I didn't realize that retirement was going to mean at home too! He rarely helps with even putting his dirty dishes in the sink or picking up his clothes. Also he is stopping at McDonalds way to much!!!!!! I've been wanting to talk to him about it but I don't want to fight.
Sounds Good Gina!!!! I'm so glad you are still here with me.....

Thanks Roz. This is helpful. I hope I can figure out which way to go soon! Cheers.
I've been around here 8+ years and I'd say the RNY has probably been represented the most over the years and I believe most of our Posters got to goal or close to it. I don't know about how successful they are now. Posters seem to stray away once they get to goal. It's nice when they stop in once in awhile.
I'd say it would be determined by how much help you are going to need. This is just my opinion but if you are very disciplined the VSG might work well for you. This is just my opinion but I think the VSG's doesn't seem to have much restriction so you have to make good choices in what and how much you eat.
Personally I'm an RNY person. I do take NSAID's without a problem. I LOVE sweets and my RNY keeps me on track or I dump. I've been very careful to listen to my body from the very beginning and even at 8+ years out my body still has restriction and I still get shaky/nauseated when I over due the sweets/fats. I eat numerous small meals every day whi*****ludes Whey Protein drinks. During the losing stage I drank over 100 grams of Protein every day but I've cut that about in half now.
No matter what surgery you choose only you can decide to make or break it. I chose my RNY knowing this was going to be the way I eat for the rest of my life.
Good Luck and Keep us Updated on what you decide!!!!
