WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Good Afternoon LW's!!! I splurged and stopped at Dunkin Donuts and got an bacon, egg, cheese, croissant. I was surprised when the person in the car ahead of me paid for it. I'm usually the giver instead of the receiver so I'm definitely going to pass this act of kindness along.

Thank you for this reminder. I'm 10 years out and I must agree That you are 100% correct. I cut out mostly all carbs for the first 5 years or so and then gradually started eating bread and pasta "just this once". Well, the addiction is in full blast and I have regained 25lbs. I am Starting to mentally prepare to clean my body from this carb addiction and start my healthy eating on January 1st. I've made small changes thus far so that it's easier to wean off. I must do it, though. I need To be accountable and my first step was rejoining this forum.
Thank you you for your wise words. Any additional advise?

Thanks for stopping in and giving us an update!!
Carbs and weight gain go hand in hand. You can get hooked so fast! I would try to jump start losing again by increasing your calorie intake through good protein: Whey drinks, meat, jerky, etc. for a couple of weeks and then drop the calories back down to what you would normally use.
Catch up with us after the holidays!!

Hi Roz,
I just saw your message now. Do you really think I should increase calories in protein form before dropping again? I had never heard of this concept but I am willing to try.
I proposed to myself that as of January 2nd, I'd cut out as many carbs as possible. No bread, pasta, crackers, sugar, etc. It's hard since my body is going through withdrawals but I need to clean my body of them.
I am in control. :)

PS - I never stopped drinking my low calorie, low sugar protein shake for breakfast every day. I believe this helps more than anything.
Congratulations on your drive thru surprise!!!

That's good you still drink your protein drink. I can't seem to function if I don't drink mine....LOL.
I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. My Mom passed away and I've had a roungh time of it emotionally.
Any time during my losing stage that I stalled I increased my protein food for a few days and then dropped down. It worked every time.
