Getting close

So I am on day 5 of my pre op liquid diet. I am having a VSG on 2/28 and I am absolutely petrified!! This liquid diet is torture... to say the least. I have lost 4.6lb in one week! I am what some would consider a WLS lightweight. My BMI is around 36 but it was over 37 when i started the process. I have about 60lbs to lose to get to my own personal goal of 130. My surgeon is also happy with that goal. My question: is it possible for me to lose too much weight? I don't want to look sick, I just want to be healthy. I guess that's a strange question.  How was everyone's appetite after surgery?

I had RNY, not the same surgery, but I had no actual hunger for at least 4 months.

Since I don't know much about the sleeve, I can't say about getting too thin. I can't imagine, but I guess anything is possible.

Welcome to our LW Board!!

I think getting to thin is in the eyes of your family and friends.  I think every one of us who have been successful getting to a Normal BMI have been told we have lost to much and that we are getting to thin or sickly looking.   Being a LW and reaching goal happens quicker and they aren't use to seeing us thin.

Your body will know when to stop.  15 pound Bounce back is not a myth it is for real. If you stop to soon the bounce back and the scales will settle above the number you have in mind.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

I had been thinking I was too thin when I dropped to the weight I am currently at (between 115-116), as the thinnest I had ever been as an adult was about 122-123. I did have to bring my calories up more than I thought I would have to to stop losing.  I have been hovering here for about 2 months and am realizing that I'm not really too thin as my ribs are still covered with some padding (not sticking out).  I think I just hadn't seen myself this thin before. Though I don't want to go lower I have decided not to try gaining intentionally and my surgeon agrees with that. If my weight goes up some that's fine as long as I don't exceed 125 which is the upper limit I've set for myself.  So if I get the bounce back Roz was warning I should be okay.

Liz, you should update your "after" photo with one of you at your current weight! I'd love to see the difference 15 lbs makes at 130.

I'm still over a month out and I CAN NOT WAIT to get this ball rolling.
