Well, I hit my Yr post op and then another month on top of that!  I didn't reach my goal, but I don't blame my surgery.  I take full responsibility for this!  Unfortunately, with my medical issues keeping up with a good exercise plan just wasn't in the works for me.  That being said I am very happy with the 75-80lbs I have lost and keep off!!!!  I am wearing a sz 8 and I think I'm pretty happy with that, the reason I say I "think" is because I still have issues with who I see when I look in the mirror.  I tend to still see the "old" me and it takes me looking at side by side pics to see the real difference. LOL  My 12 yr old daughter sent me a old pic and said "uh mom, you definitely don't look like this anymore" I about died and said "I didn't look like that did I?" lol  So apparently I didn't know I looked like that, but I don't see what I look like now either. So I must see something in between the two, if that makes sense.  Anyways, I haven't made any posts lately and thought I would give a quick update on me.  Hope everyone is doing well on their journey!!

Many RNY folks continue to lose for the first 2 years and you will still malabsorb for 18 months or so.  You certainly can still reach goal and be where you want to be.  Don't give up, it just slows down.  So keep on keeping on and it will happen for you.  Rebound is real so you want to go as low as you can now so you will end up somewhere that still makes you happy.

About the image and mental image.  I still pull out pants, at almost 6 yrs out, and think where did those come from, they will never fit, and they do.  It gets better but it takes a while, lol.

Price,

I definitely believe you about rebound, I had lap band prior to my RNY and even with lap band I gained a little after I lost my weight.  I bounce within 4-5 lbs (155-160) of this weight for about 4-5 months now.  My sister had RNY 8 yrs ago and the same thing happened with her, she stopped right around this same weight.  Now I won't say she hasn't had that occasional weight gain of 8lbs or so when she starts to notice and says oh crap I better not let this happen. LOL  I still step on the scale daily and I measure all my food, track it on MFP and if that scale moves in the wrong direction I make sure I correct it immediately!  I didn't go through this just for _____ and giggles. This is a life change and I plan of keeping it that way.  I hope I do manage to lose the rest of the weight, it would be nice but I have come to "like" where I'm at.  I'm happy and that's what truly matters.  So, if it comes off the rest of the way in the next couple months than that's a bonus for me.  I'm 41 yrs old and I'm the happiest I've ever been in my adult life, heck I think I might actually be the happiest I've ever been..  I'm about  18.5lbs away from my goal and I won't give up, I'm just saying I am happy now..  Thank You for ALWAYS being so positive and helpful in all your comments.  You have always been an inspiration and someone I look up to.  I congratulate you on your continued success!!
