Back after a long absence
I've been working for a tax preparer since the end of January. Yesterday was my last day. I never want to see a W-2 or 1099 ever again. When I interviewed, the owner said there would be "some" Saturdays. I worked every Saturday except 3. The owner brought in groceries each week and there were healthy choices, but I really should have take my lunch. I didn't want to explain why the food wasn't completely the best for me. There was an assortment of Lean Cuisine, however, they had way more carbs that I need and many had rice which I don't tolerate very well. Some days I had cheese and deli meat. There was always bagged salad but the salad dressing was high calorie. I did take my own snacks like protein bars and Greek yogurt.
Last night the owner treated us to dinner at a local casino. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it. I was the only one asking for a box. There were 3 kinds of appetizers......crab cakes, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp. Dinner was a steak, salad and baked potato. I only ate a few bite of the steak and potato. DH enjoyed by leftovers tonight.
I gained a couple pounds, but I'm already working on getting those off. I retired in 2012 then started working as a temp in 2013, but I think I am ready to retire for good now.

Welcome back. I know tax folks are really slammed this time of year. I have had a question for my accountant that I have just been holding on to until later this week when she has time to recover a little.
It IS hard when someone else is in charge of the food. And when I am at horse shows, like an office, there is always food and always stuff we don't need to eat that I can control at home, but not there.
REcoup for a while and get back on track. Those pounds will go away. Join us on Miles and Menus (we get pretty lonely sometime) and Sunday Weigh In. glad you are back.

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. I retired August 31, 2012 and then in October 2013 I went to work for a temp service. I've worked a lot over the last 2 1/2 years but I'm tired of working and think I need to go back to retirement. I have so many quilt project to do.
