WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

WOW this week is going fast!  I went to my bladder Dr. yesterday about my leaking.  She wants me to get back on my IC diet and see if that helps. She said it could possibly be all of the cough drops I've been taking for "the cough that won't go away".  I'm going to hold off giving up my Protein Drinks until I see if there is any improvement at all.

Could your cough be from reflux?  I used to have that when I was heavier.  I've been seeing those new tampon things to help with bladder control.  Never tried one but they sound like they may be the trick for some folks.  Bladder leaks are no fun.

It is a beautiful day here and it would have been a good day to drive but I had meetings that were suppose to happen then got cancelled to late to do anything.  Bummer.

this is day 4 of the 5 day pouch test.  It really has been so much simpler than I expected.  Today is soft protein, tomorrow firm protein.  From Sunday at 137 to 134 this morning, I am very happy.

decaf protein coffee  33g
eggbeaters, cheese
Caribbean cooler protein 13g
burger patty w/ melted cheese
lemon tea protein  13g
tenderized pork chop 4 oz, 1/4c broccoli/carrots
protein hot chocolate  23g

I take my Prilosec ever day.  The cough is getting better.  I rarely cough at night and I've only taken 1 cough drop today.

The only thing nice about our weather is we don't have freezing roads and ice on our windshields.  DH and I have been staying in once we get home.

I'm sooooo glad the pouch test has been better than expected!   I sounds like you are doing really good!!!!

Where or what brand of protein tea and hot chocolate do you use?

I use all Syntrax products.  The lemon tea is one of theirs and I use one of their chocolates to make the hot chocolate.  With the lemon tea, I do a crystal light (generic) and 1/2 scoop of protein in 20 oz.  It foams if you mix it in a blender but not if you use a spoon.  I like it warm or cold.

For hot chocolate, I use some kind of fake milk, usually cashew, unsweetened and heat that.  Then with a small amount of warm water I mix about a teaspoon of cocoa, a sweetner and a scoop of chocolate protein powder.  Then use the hot milk to temper the protein mix, then mix it all.

You just need to be sure to not over heat protein or it curdles and that is pretty nasty.

Hope you start feeling better!!  My cough is much better today thank goodness!

Good for you getting back on track!!!!!  3 1/2 lbs. is a good number!

Congrats on the Job!  My DD#1 is a CPA but they don't do taxes.  Thank Goodness because this cheer competition season and it would be next to impossible for her to be doing taxes.

How is your DH doing?

Hi Roz,

Sure hope it gets better and hope you can keep doing protein drinks.

I didn't get on yesterday because I worked on 1099's and W2's and finished them up late yesterday.  As soon as I sat down I fell asleep!  I'm so glad that is finished.

Cake baking & decorating today.  I only have one this week.  Play practice in a little while. I have got to learn my lines.  One of our actors fell and hurt his knee Monday and doesn't think he will be able to be in the play this year.  He is a favorite of all the people that come and guys are hard to find.

I'm not giving up my Protein drinks unless the cramping doesn't going away.  I was good for a few months before I had my surgery so I'm trying to stick with the foods/drinks that I had during that time.

We are still working on 1099's.  He has me working on an excel sheet today.

We ordered a Paw Patrol Cake for DGS from our cake lady yesterday.  We just had an ice cream cake this week and his big birthday party is next week.

That's a shame about the actor getting hurt.  I know there are several guys at the high school that everyone looks forward to seeing.  I'm sure they would be disappointed too.

Sounds Good!  I don't know how you can just take a few bites of cake crumbs.  That would send me into a carby day.
