WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Afternoon LW's!!! Happy Friday!!!!! I've been closing in on catching up at work....YEAH!!! I wish I could come in and work tomorrow when our doors are locked. One good day without the phone ringing or clients walking in the door would really help.

Between your boss retiring and then you being out AND the first of the year, I feel your pain. I have been so overwhelmed getting everything ready for Carf. Sometimes I think I am fine, then I am totally overwhelmed again. And so sick of sitting at the computer all day.

Me Too!! I stayed over for a little while. I just had the girls lock the door. I wanted my desk to be in order when I get there on Monday. It's check writing day and that's my most stressful morning. Things will ease up a little after we do the checks.
I've been craving soup. I might have to stop and buy a cup when we go out today.
Sounds Good!

I had to skip my vitamins for a couple of weeks after surgery and now that taking I'm them again I'm having a terrible time getting my bowels to move. I thought the surgeon said he rerouted everything so I have an easier time.
Sounds Good Gina!

are you doing benefiber or miralax? I have to do one every day even though I eat a lot more veggies than you do.

You might want to cut way back on the calcium. Start again but very slowly adding a capsule or pill a day. I had a lot of trouble with Citracal and had to switch to Vitalady's calcium citrate only. Are you taking iron in the form of ferrous sulfate? If so, you might want to switch to Proferrin ES. It's heme iron and very gentle to the system.
I would be very concerned about a surgeon saying he rerouted your already rerouted system. Can he explain what he actually rerouted so that you are sure he didn't reroute your RNY?

He is actually the only reputable Weight Loss Surgeon in our town. I've been wondering that myself. He said he took out the bad section of my bowel and colon and reconnected them. He didn't mention my WLS other than he felt that all of the scar tissue was primarily from my WLS and not my C-Sections and Hysterectomy. I've lost 6 pounds since before surgery and so far keeping it all off.
I never take Iron..... It gives me such bad heartburn and made it even harder to move my bowels.

Sounds like the damage and the removed area was much lower than your bypass...no worries. But, you may have to change up your approach to getting enough stool softeners and fiber to work. Back to the drawing board until you get that part figured out. Regarding iron, I'd try Proferrin ES (heme) iron when you're ready. It's very, very gentle on the system.

They have me on colace for now. I'm going as much now as I did before surgery but I got a ton of gas now. I'm really worried about my bladder leaking.
