The Holiday
So I made it through Thanksgiving. I didn't cheat...didn't even crave anything sweet or fatty. Actually the smell of some of the food made me sick to my stomach. I'm going to enjoy this phase of things.
But one thing was weird....this is the first holiday in as long as I can remember I didn't gain any weight. I lost weight. Yahoo!!! I no longer wear plus sizes either. The crazy thing is being confused about whre to shop. I am getting use to this though!!!
I am 4 months post op, and already more than halfway to my goal.
November has been particularly exciting because my mom had her RNY done too!!! I have a buddy who understands now. And she can be healthy and be here for use and her grand children. So many things to be thankful for.
Thanks for all the support for you all and all the menu posts...It really helps.

How great to have your mom join you on the dark side, lol. You two can be a great support for each other. We have had some husband/wife teams that both had surgery and they were great supporting each other.
I loved that time when I could have cared less about eating. It doesn't last forever but it sure is nice. I thought stuff smelled good but had no desire to eat it. It was great.
Weight loss will start slowing down around 6 months but just keep on keeping on and you could be there around a year, more or less. With RNY, you have about 18 months of good malabsorption to help you lose. We have had folks who have lost for several years.

It's great to have someone to support you and understand the struggle.
I am making sure to start and keep my good habits now so 1,2, 3 years from now I can maintain and not stress so much. In my support group I get to talk to some people that are 5 and 7 fm years out I am realizing learning to eat well helps and staying in some form of support group helps. I'm just excited to feel great and stay focused.
Thabks for the kind words and the truth I know what to look forward too Lol

Welcome to our LW Board!! I think it's Awesome that you can share this with your Mom!!
I had a terrible time finding a store and styles that would work with my new body. I was used to wearing open button downs with a shell underneath and it was hard to change my way of thinking to include pullovers. I mourned not being able to buy my clothes at Dress Barn. BUT that has definitely changed....LOL. I was a clothesaholic for a while and spent way to much on the way down to my "perfect" number on the scale. Now I only shop sale racks at the ends of the season and I usually only buy name brands. It's rare for me to pay full price for anything. I love Macy's now.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
