I am 33, a mom of four and have been a heavy yo yo dieter. Over the years I lose and then gain plus some. I had a hysterectomy on 2/11/2015 and can't lose a single pound since. I am 5'4 1/2 and weighing 172 with a BMI right at 30.

I I have been approved by dr Alvarez and have sent off my $1000 non refundable deposit and surgery is scheduled for October 31 ... Not this Saturday but next. I was super excited and ready. I truly feel I will continue getting bigger and bigger as I cannot lose and need this tool.

I am just scared.... I don't want to lose too much. I want to get down to about 125. That is a healthy weight range for my body. So about 47-48 lbs total. Is it possible to lose entirely too much? Will I regret this? I go thru times of total excitement and then complete fear. I am not scared of the procedure just of maintaining weight.

The he money is not an option... If this is a bad idea I could walk away and eat the $1000 deposit and the $339 plane ticket but I do want the surgery and don't feel I can ever lose what I want to without it.

Would dr Alvarez approve me if it would put my health at risk? I have four precious children and a husband who need me healthy and depend on me. I am wanting the surgery to lose weight, have more energy and just feel better over all... Not do the opposite and of course put a complete end to yo yo dieting and crap I can't stick to....

advice please!!! And thanks in advance :)

Try not to worry, your body will stop on its own. Try to lose as much as you can as fast as you can and take advantage of this surgery. Good luck!

Congrats on your Approval and Date!!! Most of us have had the same concerns as you. I didn't have any fear but my family was a wreck!!!

It is the best thing I've ever done for MYSELF!!! I only know of one person who lost to much and had trouble gaining it back and she had several WLS and some health issues.

Go as low as you can go even if you think it's too thin because bounce back is REAL and it might put you over where you want to end up.

It is amazing what the body can accomplish when under pressure. Barring some unforeseen issue, your body will be working overtime to slow down your loss so that you stop before you get too low.

My 5' tall mom weighed 175 the day she had her sleeve. She weighs 115 now and is holding her weight beautifully a year out.

You are going to be fine ; -)

I haven't seen much research (or heard much about) surgery for people with BMIs as low as 30 without comorbidity such as diabetis.

What does your Prim Care Phy say??
