M&M is Menus and Miles. You post your menus every day and that not only makes us accountable for what we eat but also helps others and ourselves get ideas for variety.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I'll get someone to answer your post.

Protein coffee, we all make it a little different but here is what I do. I brew a little 5 cup coffee maker of decaf. Then I mix about 2/3c of warm water and 1.5 scoop of protein powder just with a spoon. My favorite is mint cookie and vanilla, half and half. Then I use that to "cream" my coffee. Some folks mix the powder with milk or a milk substitute (soy, coconut, etc) but I am fine with it with water and it is creamy enough and sweet enough with no other sweetner. What you don't want to do is try to use the protein powder like powdered creamer. Just doesn't work and can curdle when it hits the hot liquid.

Any particular reason to use decaf?

My Dr group took us all off caffeine before surgery and I haven't gone back. I do use real coffee if I am visiting someone who only drinks real or when I am traveling to stay away while driving. Now that it is "occasional" it works great as a pick me up. I drive a lot by myself and it will help greatly. but I can't have it too late because it will keep me up at night also. Never did before. I used to be able to drink a cup right before bed and sleep.

Protein Coffee

1. In the early months I couldn't stand real coffee but I loved Syntrax Cappuccino protein shake heated. I would mix a shake and nuke it for a minute and few seconds so the protein wouldn't clump.

****

2. Here are my Protein Coffee directions and recipe.

Brew a pot of your favorite reduced caffeine coffee - we like chocolate raspberry (you can also brew chai tea and use in place of coffee) Most dietitians recommend decaf coffee since they believe it's a diuretic.

In a 20 oz blender bottle with wire ball, add 3 oz of milk, 1/2 & 1/2 or heavy whipping cream (HWC), 3 oz of cool water, a packet of Truvia or Splenda, a couple of dashes of cinnamon, and a heaping scoop of Syntrax Nectar vanilla protein powder.
Shake about 5 seconds to blend
Pour the protein slurry into a huge mug and fill to the top with hot coffee (You can also leave it in the blender bottle and just add the hot coffee on top, just don't shake it again. Cover and gently tilt to blend.)
Sir to blend and enjoy!

Always add hot liquid to cold protein slurry to keep the protein from clumping.

Always check the ingredients of a protein powder before you buy it to ensure the first ingredient listed is whey protein isolate. Don't trust the splashy label on the front.

Do you live near Disneyland in FL? We love that place!! Our DD Coaches 17 All-Star Cheer Squads and we go there every spring for 10 days to help her out with her 3 boys. That's way to long for her to be away from her little ones. Our best friends live about 45 minutes out so we get to visit with them too.

Sounds good but I'd really like to see you add at least 1 more shake. How many grams of Protein are in it? A lot of us "older" ones get in at least 60 - 100 grams a day just in "Good" Protein Shakes.
