WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Afternoon LW's!!! I hope the end of summer and colder weather brings more posters to our LW site. Although I appreciate the Posters that do post every day (VERY MUCH) it's discouraging on most days when I sign on and there's only a couple of people. I would appreciate your opinions. Would you like me to do M&M a different way? Would you like me to not get personal? Is it too much to read on your phones?

I REALLY miss you when you don't post. Maybe that's why I'm feeling like this now. You, Price, and Gina are my only "followers" most days.

Have you tried Popcorn when you need a snack in the evenings? It really helps me get through a long evening. I've found the fiber helps me go to the bathroom too.

Sounds Good!

I have not tried popcorn, but think I will pick up some next time I am at Walmart. Al has the large bags of microwave popcorn, but if I pop that I would eat it all. I need the mini bags...

Thanks!!

My doc, gastroenterologist, who did my revision, claims that mixing protein shakes and soft foods make you gain weight. It makes no sense to me. I am three weeks out from revision, only drinking shake. (He has us on them for 46 days) and I lost nothing this week. Have never eaten more than 1000 calories,

i am beginning to think the shakes are ridiculous. They are very hard to take five times a day.

feeling discouraged.

You are probably on the famous 3 week stall. Happens to many folks and it is very discouraging but our bodies just have to catch up.

46 days of liquids is a long time. I thought my group was conservative, lol. We had 10 days liquids, 10 days soft (cream soups, yogurt, etc) then 10 days purred. We did shakes the whole time and I still do, at 5 yrs and think they are part of the reason for my success.

Hang in there. Did you take your measurements? Lots of times we lose inches even when we aren't losing pounds. Keep your fluids and protein up and you will lose weight.

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was slow because I am 70, but I see your weight loss was great and relatively fast. I am thinking of having some puréed foods along with the shakes. I hate being non compliant but I am on day 21 tomorrow and cannot face another three weeks.

Before I forget: Can you please put your Surgery type and date in your signature on title. It helps us a lot when answering your posts.

I would be discouraged too if I had to drink shakes for over a month!!! I don't understand your Drs. idea either. My surgeon started me on Drinks and Food from day one and I definitely didn't gain wait. For me it would have been impossible because I am NOT a drinker! I hope he stressed GOOD Protein!!

I'm a snacker and at 7+ years out I still am. It works for me and you need to figure out what works for you.

It's possible that Price is right. You might be in a stall. That happens early out especially if you were on a pre surgery diet and lost a lot.
