I have been trying many different low carbs recipes and I love that my family tries everything that I make.  They never shy away from trying my new recipes.  That is a victory for me.  I love how they support my new eating style.

That is great. I love the blog by Shelly (Michelle) AKA Egg Face. I also love recipes posted by Nic, AKA Bariatric Foodie. I mess with them a bit to adjust for what we like (2 VSG house), because even though we don't eat much, I love to cook. I'm even considering starting a blog of my own.

I'm 5 yrs out very soon, 9-9-15.  My long term successful tactic has been to cook meat (fish, poultry, ect) and a veggie or salad, then hubby makes toast or I stick a potato in the microwave, or fries in the oven for him.  He isn't particularly happy with rice, I haven't cooked pasta in at least 5 yrs but he loves bread.  I love good bread but he is happy with just any bread so he uses his sandwich bread or cinnamon raisen bread or whatever is here.  Makes life pretty easy.
