Menus and Miles Sunday August 23rd
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Good Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Morning LW's!!! Well I hoped on the scale this morning and then headed to the fridge for the last couple bites of a piece of homemade Peach Pie I have been nibbling on...LOL. It's best to just fini**** off so I can get it out of my mind. Do we ever get to the point that food doesn't control our thoughts????
Has anyone unexpectedly Blessed you with a Surprise? Yesterday when I opened the mail there was a card and I figured thrtr must be another graduation party going on. When I opened the envelope I about fell off my chair. Someone sent us a Beautiful Card saying " made a list of people who I care about. Who in one way or another have cared for me. Thanks. It included 2 $500.00 money orders! It's driving me crazy wondering who it could beand who I know who could even afford this.

I know you are doing really good on the scales but I'm still worried you aren't eating enough.
Is running/steps something you are going to continue doing all season even after you get to goal? I would think you are burning a lot more calories than you are eating which might backfire if you ever stop. Especially when you get to Maintenance.

Hi Roz,
Well you correct about my food intake. I went to see the Nut today. She told me that i am way under the amount of calories i need to be eating. I eat between 600/700 cals a day now she recommends 1200. She has asked that i weigh myself once per wee****il we meet again on Oct 26th. She recommends between 90 and 110 g of protein per day. She also recommends i get my additional cals in good grains. She thinks i can go to that many cals and still continue to lose weight. I am at little worried about upping the cals by 600 per day. and as i told her i am not sure i can even add in that much more food.
The exercise that i list each day is typical for me before and after surgery. I am training for a half marathon in October and have another in Feb so the running will continue.
She said i should try to set of goal of maybe trying to be a size 30 inch waist instead of a number on the scale.
I am going to try to up my cals but it will take time, and of course i will watch the scale since i do not want to push myself into maintenance.
thank you for checking in on me.

1200 might be good since you exercise so much. Personally I would only use Protein to increase my calories but you do what you feel is best for you. I know I have to stay under 1300 to Maintain my weight but I NEVER exercise.

I agree with the only protein, I am very nervous to add a bunch of grains that may stall my weight loss. but I am going to try for a couple of weeks to see if there is any noticeable difference. I really want to continue with the loss not put my self into maintenance.

I worry about you getting hooked on carbs. It is soooo easy to do. You might not notice a gain right away but then all of a sudden it's there.
