I'm so excited for you!!! August 26th will be here quicker than your think!!
The boards are really slow in the summer. They should start picking up soon.
I had an RNY so I can't help you either but if you concentrate on Protein you should get to the goal you are thinking about plus some. Go as low as you can even if you think you are too thin!!!!
Can't wait to hear about your journey!!!

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

I was around that same BMI once I was rolled into surgery. I'm 4 months post op and am down over 50 lbs. I lost 60 pre-op too. Even post-op I've been averaging 2.5 lbs of weight loss each week. When your BMI is lower, the losses aren't as dramatic in number, but in inches and energy it is amazing!

My BMI at the time of surgery was 40 so a little more than yours and I have had pretty good losses. I have lost 55.4 pounds since surgery which was 5.5 months ago. Everyone loses different but if you follow plan it should work! Good luck on surgery!! I hope it is nice and boring! :) Surgery was the best thing I could have ever done!

Have stopped losing pounds but am losing inches!
Hi Michele7,
I am almost 3 years out with a sleeve. I was in the high 30's as far as BMI, but I don't remember the exact number. I also had sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and my blood sugar was creeping into the danger zone.
I lost 85 pounds, but everybody is different.
I highly recommend checking out the VSG forum, and stay connected on this one. This one is a bit slow right now because of summer activities, but we are a supportive bunch.
I followed a high protein, low carb eating plan, and still do. My husband also has a sleeve, but he was a higher BMI. He is 4 1/2 years out. We knew that to be successful at getting the pounds off, and keeping them off in maintenance, we would need an exercise plan. You will need to find something you like, because if you don't like it, you won't do it. My hubby runs and has completed several 1/2 marathons and 3 full marathons. I like to figure skate, and now compete about 4-5 times a year. We both also like nature walks and ballroom dancing.
I hope this helps.
Linda
I was 36.8 when I started and I had the Duodenal Switch (DS). I lost down to the middle of the normal BMI range in 11 months. Welcome aboard!

Good evening everyone,
Thanks for all your posts, I am one who likes to read and not post but I am starting new again. I was banded on 11/25/10, hw 210, ht 5.0, I lost about 50 lbs. But it was hard to maintain if I wasn't in the gym 2 hours a day. I started have complications with the band about 9 months ago, now I have been revised to a sleeve (which is what 8 wanted 5 years ago but insurance wouldn't cover it). My sleeve stats bmi 37, 193. I will be starting week 3 post op Monday. So far so good, getting in my water and protein. Can't wait to start exercising. I think I am at a stall too. I am only going to weigh once a week from now on. I was worried bc I had some super runny sweet potatoes with protein powder and was worried I messed up.
Thanks again, it's nice to know people are having the same issues as me. And it is encouraging to see peoplesol far out still dining well.
