5 Years! Went by fast

Good morning LW's,

Just realized I missed my 5 year surgiversary. Went by so fast!

Not one regret. My type 2 diabetes is still in remission, normal blood pressure and labs. Life is just easier. Maintenance is definitely tougher than I ever thought. Struggling with regain, but it is possible to get it back off.

Just wanted to update. Love this forum, it has been an amazing place for support!

Thanks!

Congratulations to you Maria!  You're keeping a positive attitude and that can't but help to get you to the next five years.

Congrats on your surgerversary!!!  You have been a real success.

Wow, 5 yrs.  I know mine has gone by fast.  I keep a fat picture with me all the time in my purse just so I can never forget how big I was and how blessed I have been to be able to get my life back.  So happy you have been on this journey with me.

Congratulations on your 5 years Maria!!

I agree that maintenance is much harder, but it is possible to get the regain off if we stick to the plan(easier said than done for me!).

Regain does come off too slowly and comes back too quickly!

Easy, it definitely not!!! Evil carbs!

Congrats on 5 Successful Years!!

Yes it is possible to get those extra pounds off!!  Consistency and Protein!!

Have you had your labs taken recently?  Are you still taking your supplements?  I messed up thinking I was absorbing enough from food and it's not true!  Started losing my hair, blurry eyes, and forgetfulness sent me running to the Dr.  My B-12 was practically zip. Other labs were low too.  I started getting a B-12 injection every month plus a bi-lingual daily and not skipping any of my other vitamins.  I haven't noticed much difference yet but I am feeling hopeful.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Thanks Roz!

Two things I have stuck with is my supplements and not drinking with meals. As for the other rules, it waxes and wanes.

Labs are good. Glad you are back on track with your regimen!
