So in your opinion should we continue to lose weight until our bodies stop/stay steady and then start the maintanance stage?  Or at least try to lose 10 - 15 pounds less than what our goal is so we have that little room once we start the maintanance stage? My doc told me he wanted me to be at 150lbs by my 6 month check up (this was at my 2week check up).  Then at my 3month apt he asked me where I thought my goal should be, my answer was between 135-140 but I'll know more when I get there and we can decide then. LOL  I'm only 5'2 and I at least want to be in normal range which is between 101.2 - 136.7 so if bounce back is around 15lbs than I should probably shoot for 115-120 right?

WAIT as long as you can!!  You will hear people say you are too thin but you should listen to your body.  You want to have a low "normal" BMI.

I chose my goal based on the smack dab middle of the healthy weight range for my height. It seems a little aggressive (I literally haven't weighed 130 since I was maybe 11 years old), but I figured it would be better to try for all I can now in case of bounce back. I'd be really happy at 150-160 for the rest of my life, honestly, but it would be cool to get to the normal range.

I never really had a goal weight just "as low as I can comfortably go... that turned out to be around 135.  I don't do the scale often but 4 years post op I think I'm still pretty much there based on clothes sizes ( 0-4) .  I'd like to get 120 or so to be camera -ready and maintain that weight comfortably, however I eat a lot of carbs .Trying to lose it through exercise .

HI All!  I picked my dream goal of 135 based on the middle of my BMI for normal %, but If I get to my first goal of 150 (also my surgeons goal) I will be doing jumping jacks of happiness, although if you look at the numbers that's only 1 lb into the normal %, so really I know I shouldn't stop there, no room for any bounce back and that's not a good thing.  For now i'm comfortably in a medium (size 10/12) and i'm sincerely loving life!

But besides all of that isn't this a fun journey!!!

I'm Jo   HW 245, SW 236, CW 151 Yeah (Normal BMI!!!!)

M1=213 (-23), M2=201 (-12), M3=186 (-15), M4=175(-11), M5=166(-9), M6=157(-9), M7=153(-4)

HA!  I read your post and had to chuckle... I thought I wrote it... LOL  My goal is 135, but I will also be doing cartwheels when I hit 150.  And I am in a medium (size 10/12) LOL

 Dr did not give me a number goal.

I changed my goal several times. 160....150...140.... 130. And at a bit over 1 year I hit goal of 130. I'm now at 125 and holding between 123 & 130
