Menus and Miles Friday July 10th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Happy Friday LW's..... I went to see my PCP this morning. It's time to get my Vitamin labs done. Last time they took 17 tubes out of me! Have you gotten yours done lately????? I've noticed extra hair loss lately and it could be just my age but I'll feel better knowing my labs are in the "good" range.
I didn't have anything to pack for lunch today so I'm probably going to make a trip to Wendy's for some Chili.

That's great you found other ladies to ride with!! What do you think people are thinking when they see a group of ladies in the driver seat? I'm not sure I've ever seen that in our little town. The women are usually in the back seat.
I've just been noticing mine but when I mentioned it to my DH he said it's been doing it for awhile and he has just been cleaning out the shower trap. Since he's gotten hurt he hasn't been able to bend over to clean it. It's a little upsetting that he hasn't told me.
You need to throw some Protein in tha****er.....

Hi Roz,
I had my labs drawn Monday when I was at my parents. My annual appointment isn't until September but I'm not sure if I'll get back up there again so I went ahead and had them drawn. I got so sick after this draw, it has never bothered me before. I got the shakes two or three times that day and it was not anything I ate. I think I may have just gotten dehydrated.

I usually get shaky after mine so I started taking one of my nut bars with me. I fast 10-12 hours before which would normally make me shaky even without taking all of that blood out of me.
You just made a regular lasagna with sauce, ricotta, cheese etc. and used deli chicken? Are you talking sandwich meat deli or real chicken? Did your DH like it?
Sounds like you are getting back on track since things are calming down!!

I just bought the Walmart deli sandwich sliced chicken and used it in place of the noodles. Here is the link to the recipe. It was a little too salty so when I make it again, I'll leave out the salt. I also used the Turkey Sausage Crumbles instead of the sausage so that might have added to the salt also.

He wouldn't try it when I first took it out of the oven but got him a bowl of it later and liked it. He keeps thinking I am putting funny stuff in the food(like when I cook with Carbquick!!). He is so funny.
They are working on my closets this morning adding more shelves. I had to take everything out of about 4 closets and then have to put it back in when they finish and the paint dries....
I am trying to look at more recipes that are healthier since I really do like to cook and want to try different things. I am also trying to get back to walking/jogging because I know that is the key for me since I like to eat... I signed up for a 5K in September so that will at least motivate me some.
Hope your DH is feeling better. He sure has had a tough year or two!!
We are leaving for the beach next Saturday for an entire week - I am so excited. DH's brother and his family are going and all of our kids and grandkids. It will probably be exciting to say the least... Hope we can all make it a week together.
I had labs done on July 3rd. Hoping to see that my ferritin and selenium are down a little. Good luck, Roz.

never posted yesterday but here it is for Friday.
Jody, you post on my computer was just a repeat of Roz. I know it was actually different because Roz answered you. Aren't computers weird some times.
I left early with Teke for Pony Club camp. 7 of us brought ponies and carriages so the kids could learn something about driving. I was good to see friends, play with the kids and get away from the computer for a little while. But man was it hot. Did a lot of extra drinking.
