Menus and Miles Wed. June 24th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Over the Humpo Day! DH's ballgame got rained out so he got a lot done on our new porch....YEAH. They started putting the railings on and other than staining it in a couple of months I think it should be finished soon. I've been looking for an old fashion 3 seater glider in decent condition. The only one I found I really like is in the state of Michigan and I don't think DH would drive that far away....LOL. I've been checking on Craigs list in the Pittsburgh area and there are a few possibilities but I'm going to hold out until I find one a really want.

Roz, your deck sounds beautiful Be extra careful buying from anyone on Craigs list.
My cataract surgery went well and this morning was cleared to drive without glasses. Looks I'll need reading glasses though. The pre-op was the worst part. The BP cuff would get so tight I thought my arms would fall off. The nurse putting in the IV port tried 3 times before getting it in and that really hurt. I heard a doctor tell another patient he was there to give her an injection in the back of her eye. WHAT!!! He told her she needed to not move and she did so took him 3 tries and then she was moaning and groaning. I'm starting to panic thinking I just wanted out of there. Then there he is before me. The injection was below the eye and I didn't feel anything. I had some double vision afterwards but today my vision is pretty good.
Today's eats:
B: 1/2 of Lenders bagel (I know...carbs but it was so good), cantaloupe
L: Protein shake
S:
D: Chicken; salad
S: Almonds

My deck isn't really beautiful but it's not falling apart like the cement was. DH is soooo proud of it! I worry about Craigs List too...all kinds of horror stories out there. We usually meet the people someone where if we are buying or selling something but this is too big to do that. She called me today and she seemed very nice. DH will be very cautious.
I'm glad your surgery is over and went good! I am such a wimp I can't even put eye drops in my eye....LOL. I hate getting my BP taken. It always hurts soooo bad!!
Carbs on the day of surgery...I understand! The rest of the day sounds good!

Oh Jo, I soooo want cateract surgery! Its a bit vain, but I really never cared pre-WLS about my glasses, and now well.... Ive only worn glasses for about 7 yrs, and well now post WLS, I notice them...a lot. Just curious did, insurance cover that? If not how much was it?
B-Protein Shake
L- Chicken salad
S- Babybell light
D- No plan yet...but protein!!! ;-)
Vits & Water... 1st batch & 50% of water down...
I had cateract surgery a couple of years ago and it did nothing to improve my vision at night, in the rain and I still need glasses. I was very disappointed. I had met my deductible so it only cost me $1800 which was for special lenses for astymatism and I don't they they did much either. They were 900 per eye.

Thanks for doing M&M yesterday!! My Manager is on vacation so I was on double duty. She is retiring in the fall and I'm not sure if he is going to replace her but I am sure I can't do both of our jobs long term.
It looks like you've been doing really good!
