5 months out
Hey guys sorry I havnt written in awhile. We moved to Kansas and I have had it rough. I am doing ok. I am months out now. I have hit a stall. My hair is falling out and I have bouts of fatigue. I am 165 now so that's a big change. I need to get personal for a sec. Did anyone have different colored poop after? Sorry for that but mine is different. I am going to pool for the first time tomorrow but I am nervous. I have to tuck the flag away.haha.
Hi and Welcome back.
Probably going to need more information before we can be really helpful. Like which surgery?
Hair falling out is pretty common but lack of protein is a cause. Not particularly lack of protein today, but early on. At 5 months, your protein needs to be around 100g a day while you are losing.
Fatigue can also be a protein issue. But it can be B-12, iron and D3. Did you have labs before surgery? Since surgery? are you taking your vit/mins? Is your B-12 sublingual? Is your D3 around 80? Are you getting your fluid in?
Poop? I don't remember anything strange about the color of mine other than it changes somewhat depending on what I eat???
Stalls, yeah they suck but they are normal. If you took your measurements in the beginning, take them again. Lots of time we keep losing inches when we aren't losing pounds. Be sure you are following your plan, up your protein, and keep on keeping on. You will get there.

My "poop" is all kinds of different. I generally don't do it but every third day, then when I go its huge. So hard (and dark) on the front end it hurts to do a BM, but the tail end is messy (and light colored). It is so large, its stopped up the toilet a couple times. The things we adjust too. Ah well if that's what it takes to go on this journey, I am soooo in!!
Doesn't have to be so bad. Have you tried benefiber or miralax? I use benefiber daily, well really the wallyworld generic. Miralax is for more urgent needs to unplug. I had issues before even when I was eating a high fiber diet so I knew after surgery it would be an issue without help. Both of those mix in water or whatever with no texture or taste.

Have you changed supplements or vitamins?
When I was started on prescription iron, my stools became very dark, blackish looking.
If I drink or eat anything with a strong food coloring, that can change things too.
If these things havent change for you, I would definitely follow up with your doctor to make sure all is well with you.

Thank you for asking the question. I was not a regular gal before surgery and after it's gotten a little worse. My doctor and NUT told me to add Benefiber daily and Dulcolax when needed. Right now I'm still struggling to get my 64 oz of water, averaging 32-40 oz, and I know that is part of the problem. I know when I'm on target with my water I don't have a problem with constipation, I'm not as tired and my stall unstalls. The increase in protein also helps with the fatigue. My Fitness Pal (MFP) has been a lifesaver for helping to track water and protein as well as journaling what I eat. I can also make notes about how I'm feeling that day which help me see that when I get 60g or more of protein and 64 oz or more of water I feel better and the weight loss gets back on track.
Carpe Diem!
