Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!   Besides my tool,  I count  Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!

WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!!   AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!!  THEY ARE ADDICTING!!  THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!!  THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.

Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD  CHOICES  during the Honeymoon Period.

I feel I need to repeat this:  I am a FIRM believer in Whey Protein Drinks!!!!!  I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up.   It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!

Happy Tuesday!!   This evening is Mammogram night....ugh!  Before WLS it really hurt to have them squeezed in the machine but now I apologize for the mush they have to put into the "Press"!

I certainly have a lot less to squeeze but the new digital machines are easier too.  Our center is tiny, you never wait and you get a rose at the end.  Makes it all worth while.

finishing up everything for annual training tonight.  Always a hassle but it is worth the stress to get everyone together and all of it done at one time.  We will cover Blood borne paths, safety, HIPAA, diversity and medication review plus starting on the new electronic medical record.  It will be a full evening.

decaf protein coffee  33g

Vits & H20: Working it...

Miles: Ok this has the potential to be big for me.  Im following in Elizabeths & Prices footsteps and going to the Gym this eve.  I'm scheduled to attend a 1hr class that's a combo pilates/yoga...never done this before.  Back in the day I went to aerobics all the time and I loved the energy, so Im testing out a gym.  Pricey at 75$ a mth, im going back and forth between it and the YMCA which is about $50mth.  But they have a great childrens program at this one, where they take groups of kids and do a workout class with them that's age appropriate while you are working out.  And it really sounds like it would be both fun and interesting for him... We'll see...Ill update tomorrow on how it went.

OK, so went to the pilates/yoga class.  Comedy of errors...First of all forgot gym clothes on way to work this am, and nothing I had would've fit anyways (plus I threw away all of my sports bras years ago...), so I went to store at lunch break.  Bought wrong size T-shirt & sport bra, wearing larges so, I thought Lg right, not thinking LG in gym clothes would be mega tight... Anyways made sportsbra work, although it never stopped pinching once.  Found an old Tshirt in car.  Went to class, but ended up in wrong one, it was a power something or other, so I left right after it started, and rushed to join other class, probably annoying the instructor, but really she worked with me, so in general it went ok.  But boy was I outclassed by those girls.  The first class had 30 people, all ages & types.  The one I ended up in had 5 young girls all under 25ish and with perfect bodies.  I have been feeling pretty good about myself until I looked at myself in all those mirrors on all sides wow, gotta say I hope I can get myself to go back.  I really got a successful workout in, but maybe I need a different starting point, I really was just barely successful and the only reason I made it through was one of the girls who also worked there and happened to be in the class also, took pity on me, when I was about to quit and walked me through the lower stress options, so I was able to follow her instead of the instructor. Mixed feelings about the whole thing...

BUT- you went!  That's the first step.  Don't compare yourself to others in the class - I can probably guarantee they didn't start out right up with everyone else and it took them time to learn and get their endurance up.

Jody is right!! you went!!!  That puts you miles ahead of all those folks who didn't go at all.  When I started Muscle pump, it was a joke.  I could only lift the bar with no weights, couldn't swat or lunge etc.  But the instructor was great and helped me through a knee that doesn't bend much, a steel plate in my wrist, etc.  Now, I have my own routine, I use an exercise ball for squats that help support my knee, hand weights instead of a bar to compensate for my wrist that doesn't bend and have my own exercises for the things that I just can't do. But I am there and the only 60+ in the class of young fit runners.  And it is my favorite class there is.  Make friends with the instructor.  She can't change the class for you but she can help you fit in.  Most I have met are happy to help.

Me funny......LOL!!  My family would be rolling on the floor and thinking you are crazy....!!    I'm not feeling so funny today.  Half of me is raw underneath and my bra is really rubbing on it.

I never even saw your second post until I pressed enter and it updated.   I loved aerobics when I was young but  I'd be embarrassed now. BUT I'm 62 and you've been in the Navy!  You've had a lot more experience than I have.

Every class should be better!

Sounds Good!

ITs funny, but I did a ton of aerobics Pre-navy when I was really young.  But While I was in, physical fitness stuff was always lead by guys, so as you can imagine it tended towards pushups, jumping jacks and running.  Still good for you, but a totally different thing.  Im really hping to get back to those group classes I loved so much way back when.
