Menus and Miles Sunday June 7th
Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Morning LW's!!!! I hope you are enjoying your summer so far! Our schools aren't out until next week but all of the summer activities have started. We got 3 grandkids playing softball plus DH so every night it's run run run. I made a commitment to myself that when I am fortunate to be home I'm going to spend more time outside and less on my computer. Yesterday was DD#2's birthday. Have you ever made a HOHO cake? Way to much work and way to much licking the spoon!!!! This will be the last time I make one of these!!!
Maintenance: 6+ years out and started the new year right on target!!!

Good Morning Roz you early bird, I figured no one would be up and about yet, but my internal timer has me up even though its the weekend :-(
My goal after I "have time" is to travel more. I loved to travel during my 20 yrs in the Navy, and now that im working a desk job, I miss it. I may have to drag the DH along kicking and screaming as hes a homebody, but usually I just make the plans and inform him. And hes relatively ok with that. lol, that may change though when the tempo increases. He has already opted out of my theater nights, he just says take a girlfriend and have fun...ah well such is life...
B-protein coffee
L-3 oz ham slices & slice Colby cheese
D- catered BBQ @ community pool party today (going to have to see whats avail)
Good choices to all LW's! (myself included)
I got up around 5:30 but my alarm didn't go off until 8:30. DH has been out mowing and cleaning up after DD's birthday party and I bet the neighbors are loving him!!!
If you can get DH to travel...go for it!! My DH can't sit in a car long enough to take a road trip. Thank goodness we can fly to the All-Star Cheer comps or we would never get any where!!!
Is your DH in the Navy too? Do you get out soon? My EX SIL was in the Army. Their marriage didn't survive it. He did way to much partying, card playing etc. and she was left alone without any family around for support.
It sounds like you have a good plan for today!!!

When I say travel now, I mean he is good for about a 10 hr road trip. Its the flying he can't stand, he's can't stand to not be in control...
But he was in the Navy way back when we first met 25 yrs ago. We broke up went our separate ways, he hated the navy(too many people telling you what to do,lol), got out, then 10 yrs later we got back together, got married, and he's worked as a civilian on a military base ever since we married 15 yrs ago. I laughingly say he married back into the Navy since he followed my military career. But I actually got out myself 4 yrs ago, when our son was 1 yr old, so I didn't have to deploy anymore and leave them, DH & DS (you're also non-deployable 1 yr after having a baby so I never had to go anywhere that last year). It was fun but also been nice to live in one spot for an extended period of time, .
And now, Im on a whole separate type of journey!!!! WLS!!! and Im loving it! Ive been fighting my weight and doing crash diets for 20+ yrs to make weight, and now in a relatively stress free process, I feel like im successful at it, what a difference!!

I am so late to the game that I don't post anymore- but Italian Spice - I had to comment that my son just graduated today too! He's my baby so it's so bittersweet for me after three older sisters.
Also, Navychic- my daughter is a corpsman in the Navy. She is in her fifth year and was just stationed in Norfolk.
anyawy- I did great today until my son wanted to eat at a pizza place after graduation and the safest thing for me to eat (I thought) was meatballs. I just logged it in MFP and the half order I ate had 14 carbs! Ugh! I only allow myself 20 per day - I can't seem to lose when I go higher- so No yogurt for me tonight.....
I'm bummed. I really enjoy yogurt for my evening snack.... Oh well! Happy day
