Half way there!
Good morning LW's!
Hope every one is having a good week.
I am just trying to keep motivated, I have lost half of my regain so far.
Got up to 163 from my lowest point of 131 in 2011, and the past couple of days have seen 147 on my scale for the half way point so far. Would love to get to 130, which I never made post op, so that's my goal for now.
It is slow moving, had only lost one pound in May, but better than gaining one.
So for all you newbies out there, regain is real BUT it is manageable and reversible.
I think my new mantra needs to be "Follow the rules!" If I follow the rules for my rny, my tool still works. Go figure, some times I feel like how can I be so foolish, lesson learned again. I hope for the last time.
Have a great day all!

Maria, that's good to hear. Encouraging to me since I'm trying to take off a few lbs. My eating when I'm home is so different from when I'm working. I'm not working right now and I've taken off about 4 lbs.
Are you doing high protein/low carb? How about exercise? I just can't get motivated to exercise.

Way to go Jo!
4 pounds down is awesome!
I have been doing Atkins. Cut out all white flour, sugar and starchy vegetables. But I have had my Guinness on occasion! Have not been perfect, but get right back on track when I make a poor choice.
Maybe this is how I will have to be forever. Maintenance has never been my strong suit.
My brain and chemistry havent changed even though my guts have been rewired. I truly am a food/carb addict. So atkins is working for me, just like pre op. Love not being hungry all the time.
As for exercise, that waxes and wanes for me also, I walk the dogs regularly and have had to cut back on yoga for financial reasons, but really need to ramp up my movement too.
I really had doubts that I could get rid of the regain, but I think that was more emotionally speaking and feeling like a failure. I cant fail if I dont quit.
Maria, Greta Job on the re-loss! You go girl!
Jo I had to reply to this since mine is sooo opposite, I do so much better on work days since I have to plan 3 of my four meals/snack before I ever leave the house... love the weekends, but my food choices arnt as good and water/vitamins tend to be more sporadic. ironic how different we all are... ah well it seems to be working for us all and for that I will be eternally grateful for this gift!
Yea! I need to get on that bandwagon too....

I'm so proud of you. I seem to be able to hold it, gain, lose, hold it but stable I am not. I still want 5 lbs off and every time I seem to be losing, then I am gone for a weekend and come home back where I started. You inspire me!!!!

Thanks Price! That means a lot to me, I have not been stable either.
I dont know about being an inspiration, but preop my problem was I could lose weight, and gain weight very well, just never maintained. I think this will be my issue now. It's hard when you travel a lot. Maybe together and cheering each other one we can do it.
Good job, Maria!
