Hi all hope I do this right. I have a few questions
The 2 best things about my rny is my type 2 diabetes is in remission, and my surgeon fixed my hiatal hernia and I have not had heartburn since my surgery.
I can no longer eat ice cream, it makes me dump something awful, so I really do not miss it.
I eat a greek yogurt everyday.
Oatmeal, I can eat, but it does not keep me full for long. So it is an occasional treat on a cold morning.
As for the skin, I have some loose skin, but it reminds me from where I started from.

I wish I was a dumper...I can eat anything and my body doesn't react at all. For me its a straight will power thing, if I want to lose I have to eat smart, low carb/low calorie, high protein. I still love my RNY (Gastric Bypass)! For me the big advantage is even if I wanted to cheat, one small cookie is enough to satisfy my urge, so if I only do it as the exception and the rest of the time I stick to plan, I can recover. I don't recommend it, I didn't lose at all this week, which blows since I still have a ways to go, but it just goes to show. I did find it interesting that my cravings control seems to be better. As long as the item (cake, ice cream, whatever is not starring me in the face, I can usually go with out). So I do my absolute best to keep it out of the house. Luckily my boys like salty and my nemesis is sweet... Lifestyle chgs are key...
I had my rny at 67 which was 10 months ago. Since then I have lost 80 pounds, have 6 (or more) to go. After surgery starting on the afternoon of day 2, I only took Tylenol for pain. Took rarely, I did no have a lot of pain. My husband drove me home from the hospital but he wasn't sure about how to fix what I could have to eat, so basically I took care of myself. As far as ice cream, etc., my favorite was chocolate, now I use a protein powder packet, 1/2 cup milk and ice in the blender which tastes like a shake. I have started using 1/2 cup frozen fruit in it now, I even make them for my husband. I was off work 4 weeks, was very tired and napped a couple of times a day the first 2 weeks. I could have gone back to work then, but learning how to eat and how I would react, I chose to take the extra time. My skin isn't as baggy as I thought it might be.
