Confession
Ok, I'm just going to put this out into the Universe... I was sleeved 3/8/14 and did ok the first six months, but not much after that. (Surgery weight 232, six months out was 195, went down a few more pounds over the year, but have put a couple back on. I was 192 this morning.) Honestly, I don't feel like I do too badly eating (most of the time, except I do graze sometimes) but I am addicted to sodas the way alcoholics are to alcohol! I KNOW they're bad for me, and sometimes I don't even like the taste, but I HAVE to have them. Dr. Pepper is my nemesis. So, I've decided to turn over a new leaf and get serious about this. I've started the 5 day pouch test today to try and get my stomach to shrink as much as possible and hopefully detox off of carbs. (Especially soda.) It's 3:20 P.M. and so far, so good, but the caffeine withdrawal headache hasn't begun yet. I only have to do the liquid/clear diet for 2 days! I did it for at least a week before surgery, so I know I can do this. Please keep me in your thoughts. Thanks!
Good for you for committing out loud, I think that's a really good first step. Make it your goal not to break the promise to your self. Rember once you make one slip the next is "easier" to do. But likewise the longer you can hold out, the more likely you are to succeed!!!
You can do this, remember your original goals and just how wonderful it would be to be successful!!!
Good luck on your journey and much success as you try to regain your footing!!!
I think its interesting just how similar our stats are...I'll be 46 next mth and am 5'6" also ;-)
I'm 48, too!! We have a lot of good living left to do. We need to be the healthiest we can be to enjoy it to the fullest. I just got a fitbit. I know exercise makes me feel better mentally so I am determined to do more of it.
You can do this!!

I absolutely believe in detoxing and decarbing but caffeine headaches are murder. Can you do some hot tea or some other caffeine to help with that? The last time I went off caffeine, I did it slowly by replacing my regular coffee with decaf a little at a time and managed to not to the headache. Prior to that, I counted on the morphine from surgery to get me through, lol. I've never been addicted to soda so I can't relate to that but I can caffeine headaches.
Past that, you go girl!!!! You can do this. Plan your food, post your menu on Miles and Menus and be accountable. We are right here with you. Regain is real and you can out eat any surgery. But we are here to help!

Way to go for wanting to get back on track.
I did the 5 day pouch test and it did help me get away from the carbs. I also realized that my tool was still working.
Had a 32 pound regain and have lost 14 so far. Been stalled, need to shake things up a bit I think.
Try to cut back on the caffiene, replace with tea or coffee like Price said.
Keep us posted on how you are doing!
