Confession
I actually did it in March. I downloaded the book 5DPT and the Day 6 and Beyond on my cloud reader.
Kaye Bailey really spoke to me regarding the regain and issues some of us have post op. She was telling my story, it really helped with the guilt and shame I was experiencing and knowing I was not alone. And that I need to stay connected to get support.
I know some people really believe it is a crash diet, but it really was a great tool to get back on track with. Good luck to you!

I did the 5 day Pouch Test last year. I've never been addicted to anything really. I gave up my one a day diet Coke before surgery. Occasionally, I will have one now but I'm almost 7 years out. They don't taste like they used to. My favorite drink is de-caf iced tea but I only have 2 glasses a day. Most of the time I drink water.
I've been working a temp job the last 7 months and will be done on the 29th. I'm thinking the Pouch Test the next week would be a good idea. Just sitting all day for the past 7 months has caused a few lbs. to return. I plan to start exercising most every day too starting June 1st.
You can do this. Just think how good you will feel once you lose the Dr. Pepper addiction.

I'm glad you realized that you have a problem with soda and you are have a plan to beat the addiction!! I've tried it a few times in the last 6+ years but the burn really bother's my RNY pouch.
I'm even more concerned about how much Protein you are getting in. I'm a grazer but I try to graze on Protein. Do you drink any Whey Protein drinks? I think you get to a point in your WLS journey that only good Protein can help you lose or maintain. Occasionally I can eat something forbidden as long as my "GOOD" Protein totals are up over 100.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

You are so brave. Good for you for posting today. I know how you feel. I am 5 months out and all of a sudden I am cheating at night. That was always my weakness prior surgery. I pray that I am not done loosing weight. I just won't settle for that. As far as caffeine goes. Have you tried coffee for your fix? I have coffee everyday with sugar free coffee mate. Please come here to this site for support. OH is very helpful.

Just an update, day 2 has gone much better for me! Big temptation at lunch when my friends decided to go to a mexican restaurant. (I told them I could go anywhere that had soup.) I didn't think about the chips, salsa, queso, and this particular place has a fabulous avacado-ranch dip for chips! (Mmmmm....) Anyway, I was good, and it really wasn't that hard. I do not like coffee or tea and just prefer to do without and drink water (sometimes with sugarless flavor enhancers, sometimes just plain.) I did, today, take 2 Excedrin this morning to get a little caffeine in me. Plus, I felt like I'd been run over by a Mack truck! I felt much better after that and think that helped a lot. Just 1/2 a day left with liquids only and tomorrow I get to add eggs and tuna. I'll be fine with that. My husband is doing this with me and that has helped tremendously. Besides letting myself down, I really don't want to let him down and we've been sending each other encouraging texts both days. (He had VSG a couple of years before I did.) Thanks, everyone for your support! I really do appreciate it!
