Please help a newbie

OK, so I have a question... Before RNY my weight was 235, I did the 1 month diet and then the 2 week liquid diet and by surgery day was down 26lbs for a total weight of 209. Three weeks after surgery I had my first follow up apt and had lost 11lbs putting me at 198. Now here's to tough part to swallow I am now at 7 1/2 weeks out (4weeks after my first follow up) and I have only lost another 6 lbs!! What is going on? Why am I not losing at the same speed I was losing at? I track all my food intake on MFP and I stay between 420 - 580 calories a day, 11-30 carbs, and my proteins are between 62-78, Sugars are less than 8, fat is less than 23. I also make sure to go for two walks a day, each of which is for an hour or I do 1hr walking and 1hr on the gazelle. On the first of each month I add something different like walk up stairs a few times to confuse my muscles (NUT told me to do this). Anyways, my question is; Am I losing less weight because I am now in the 100's? Or am I doing something wrong? Does anyone have any ideas at how to jump start my weight loss again? Thanks
You're doing everything right. This WLS thing is a process. Sometimes our bodies need to take a little break as it loses and it's not anything you can control. Just keep doing what you're doing and keep your eye on the ultimate goal. You've got this!

Gina,
Thank You so much for the reply! I kept telling myself that it was ok, but then I second guessed myself and thought I would ask folks who have been there done that. LOL My sister and husband both had RNY and are both doing so good after 8 and 6 yrs. My sister looks AMAZING but I wasn't around her (she lives oversees) when she had the surgery and well, my husband dropped weight really fast but he was over 300lbs when he had the surgery and we all know men lose faster than woman (for the most part). So I was comparing my weight loss to his, not too fair. LOL Anyways, Thanks for the input! Hope you have a wonderful day/weekend!!
Definitely second what Gina said.
This process is a journey, and one of the most frustrating parts are stalls or when the weight loss slows.
You are doing everything right, so be patient and kind to yourself.
This is a marathon, not a sprint.
Keep up the great work! You are doing an amazing job!

Maria,
Thank you for your response. You are right it is very frustrating when you don't see your hard work on the scale. I guess I was getting worried because I have a certain weight I need to be by my next apt to keep on track with what the doc wants. LOL I know it may not happen to our plan but I would like to be very close (within 1-2lbs) to the goal. In order to reach that I have to lose at least 2lbs every week from this point on, when we made the goal I had a little wiggle room but now that room is gone. I will just keep doing what I'm doing and let the rest fall into place. Once again, thanks for your words of encouragement! Hope you have a wonderful day/weekend! :)
Its funny that when I read your post my first thought was "oh, that's normal. she will go through that a lot and she shouldn't worry about it" but then I realized that that is the same thing I am going through and I need to take my own advise. lol. I haven't really been a fast loser but its been pretty steady, with no more than 7 or 8 days with no loses in between, but about a month ago I went in for a check up with my surgeon and she told me to start incorporating fruits and veges in with my proteins. That a didn't need as many proteins as I did at first because protein is MAINLY for healing. so I did what she said and immediately lost 5 lbs. well after a week or so, I stopped losing again. Then it was 12 days before I lost again...1 lb...ive been starting to get stressed out. I had minor surgery on Wednesday and gained 2 lbs (bummer) and of course that just adds to the stress. So yesterday I decided to go back to the beginning and eat more protein, less veges and fruit. today, down 3 lbs. I think sometimes your body just needs to catch up so we have these periods of no weight loss, but out bodies shrink. and I think we also have times when we just need to shake things up a little and see what happens. I will do this awhile until I stop losing again and them I guess I will go back to more fruits and veges and see if that shakes it up again. Just keep plugging along and just when you think its all over, your body will surprise the heck out of you.
Box top, Yes you are doing all the right things, protein first followed by veggies, minimal carbs. I think you answered your own questions when you said weight loss slows as you get in the lower numbers. The fact that you lost a lot pre surg counts. We all hit stalls where it slows down and all of a sudden we are on the downwards slide again. That and sizes are dropping off as your weight shifts even when you are staying the same. The exercise level you are doing sounds incredible, keep that up and im sure youll be dropping again soon.
Good luck on your journey!!!
You are doing everything right and you need to congratulate yourself for the things you can control instead of the things you can't. I patted myself on the back each day when I got in my fluid, my protein and stuck with my program. Those things I could control. The scale, I can not control. Why be frustrated when you have no control about what that metal monster will tell you each morning?
The other thing I found very helpful when I was losing was the estimator on this site. Look around for it. When I felt I was losing slowly, I would check and every time, I was ahead of the estimator. It was a good check for progress.
You are doing great. I would keep working on getting your protein up and keeping your carbs down. But you are fine!!!
