6 month surgiversary
Hello lightweight friends! Today is my 6 month surgiversary and I had my follow-up appointment yesterday with my Doctor. He is "tickled" with my results. :) I, of course, wish I would lose faster, but he said he has no doubt I will reach my goal. He did tell me to up my protein from 80 to 100 grams a day minimum to prevent the hair loss that I have been having.
I have come a long way in this past 6 months. I started in a VERY TIGHT 18 jeans and I wore a pair of jeans that were a size 10 on Saturday! :) The first 6 weeks were the hardest, it took me a while to get in the groove and I felt horrible. I really wanted to be down to at least 150 by the end of June and it doesn't look like I am going to reach that goal, but I'm not going to quit losing weight until I do reach my goal!
I don't see what everyone else sees when they look at me. :( I still see the fat me. Hopefully my head will catch up soon. :)
I've already started researching plastics... That is more stressful than the Sleeve was I believe... :)
You're doing great especially with the exercise. I look at all of your accomplishments and am envious. Especially of the workouts...Ive been saying I will start something more structured like a Zumba class for a while now and Ive always got an excuse. At least I am consistently walking (although it feels like running the way the minutes pass in a day...and today my old bones/muscles ache from this weekends yard work and walking) Anyways, Im trailing you fitting into a size 16 still, but hopefully someday in the not too distant future Ill catch up. That said, I honestly don't ever remember wearing less than a 14 except maybe high school but even then not sure, it was about 30 yrs ago, so each lb or size dropped is a huge success.
So Congrats on your Size 10 success and your 6 mth surgiversary, It is truly well deserved!!!!!!!
Thank you! Yes, I'm having to make myself do the exercises... Not loving it most days. :/ I do like the walking though!
I was a size 1 when I graduated high school. I got much bigger after that, then had the lap band and got back down to a size 18-20. I'm with you! EVERY size I go down is a huge celebration and it doesn't even seem real! :)
Congrats! I know what you mean when you say you wish you lost faster - it's a journey not a race - easier said than done! ;)
As far as plastics goes - your surgeon will (probably) require you hit your goal and maintain it for 6 months prior. But- it doesn't hurt to start looking at surgeons, procedures, etc. Just remember plastics is a VERY emotional experience - more so than WLS. With my TT I was emotionally all over the place. When I had my girls done, it was better as I knew what to expect going in. TT are tough... but gotta say I'm happy I did it!

Yes, easier said than done. :) But the important thing is to finish.
I will want everything done.... Lower Body, Arms, Breasts and Thighs... The plastic surgeon my WL surgeon recommended has a LONG waiting list. The earliest I could get scheduled for a consultation is November! WOW! I wasn't going to start getting scheduled for consultations until he mentioned to me yesterday it is a long wait to get in to see her.
In 2008 I had the band and lost 100 lbs, gained back about 20 and maintained that for about 5 years. Then I had the Sleeve this past November and I'm down another 55 lbs! AMAZING!!
Its funny Im not so worried about the TT or the girls, I can hide all of that with clothes. But I am already considering the batwings, I could use these arm flaps as sails...It kills me, I usually wear like a cap sleeve and I actually feel pretty good in clothes right now, but the summer weather is showing those things off way too much...
My arms are high on my priority list too!! Before my breasts.... I agree... I can wear a bra and put them up where they belong with padding, but the arms show all the time. I can wear a medium shirt, but some mediums have smaller arms and they don't fit just because of the arms. :P on the batwings!!
I would probably consider getting my arms done before anything else too. Yesterday I wore a sleeveless shirt to work for the first time ever and I kept putting my sweater on because I was so self-conscious of my sagging arms. I even went home and looked at myself in the mirror to see what others might have been looking at. I bought some long sleeve shirts at the end of winter last year and got the sleeves hemmed to the perfect length.
