2 Weeks Post-Op Update

As of today I'm officially 2 weeks post-op.  It's funny - it seems like we work for months and months to get the surgery and then you blink, you are past it and 2 weeks post-op.  I'm on the pureed stages and doing well.  I've been able to tolerate everything so far, so that's been a plus.

I've lost 13 lbs total post-op as of this morning.  I've lost over 70 when you combine my supervised wl program, pre-op and post-op success.  I started in a size 20 (heading into a 22) in October and over the weekend transitioned into a size 14 already.  I'm thrilled with the progress so far.  I lost 12 lbs my first week post-op and just 1 additional since.  However, given the fine bit of education I've received on this site, I'm not worrying.  Seriously, I'm eating about 300-400 calories a day, getting in 90-100 oz in water, so really the weight has no choice but to come off.  My body, from experience, just doesn't like when I drop a big number.  It makes me wait a week or two to really get things going again.  I know this and because of that, I'm good.

I also decided to sign up for Stitch Fix today.  I'm not having it start until the end of May, but I'm excited to try different things that I normally wouldn't buy.  I'm a creature of habit and wear what I call my "uniform" which is always jeans, shirt, sweater.  Of course color and patterns do vary, but that's my uniform and I'm ready to break out into different things.

Thanks again for the continued support.  I can only hope to be as helpful moving forward to others as all of you have been to me.

Onward!

Way to go JC!

Very typical for the weight loss pattern, not a linear line going down, but my looked like a crazy set of stairs. Lose, maintain, lose maintain.

Funny, I have the same uniform when I am not in my nursing whites!

Happy dancing for you!

Keep up the great work!

Thank you, Maria! Funny about the uniform - clearly I need a change but struggle finding things I like. I always gravitate to the uniform.

Sounds like you are doing great!!!  Keep up the good work!  Make sure your protein is up there too.  I stall a lot, so I understand how it feels to not see the scale move, but you have the right attitude!  Keep working the plan and it will work for you. :)

Yeah I need to keep working on the protein. I'm averaging about 60 but pre-op got around 80 which is my personal goal.

Good for you that is awesome to see how far you have come in your new journey i am having my surgery tomorrow and it is so true how slow it seems to get through all the steps leading up to the surgery and then you blink and it's your turn. I am glad you have gotten through the 2 week post op stage I am nervous to be able to get all the protein and water in I bought the premier ready made shakes at costco and I bought a chicken soup with protein already in it from Unjury were you able to have cottage cheese and yogurt?

On the right path, and great pre WLS work.  That is always really motivating when folks do it w/o the benefit of the tool.  Now with its help, i'm sure you'll do amazing!
