Hello to all of our Lightweights!!! If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!! Besides my tool, I count Posting on the LW board as my #1 reason for being successful on this exciting journey!!!!
WARNING TO SELF AND TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN!!! AVOID 'BAD' CARBS AT ALL COSTS!!! THEY ARE ADDICTING!! THEY WILL SLOW DOWN YOUR WEIGHT LOSS DURING THE LOSING STAGE (and you won't even notice)!! THEY WILL MAKE THE SCALE GO UP AFTER THE HONEYMOON PERIOD IS OVER.
Success in Maintenance starts with GOOD CHOICES during the Honeymoon Period.
I feel I need to repeat this: I am a FIRM believer in Whey Protein Drinks!!!!! I have IC (Irritable Bladder Syndrome) and I can only have them occasionally while I'm not having a flare up. It is sooooo much harder to do Maintenance without them!
Morning LW's!!! We leave tomorrow for Sunny Florida.....Praying for Sun !!!! I'm going to try posting M&M but if any one wants to jump in to start the post or respond to our LW's even if I do get it started please feel free!! I'm Trying to get DH packed. He has his summer things everywhere!! When we got home from our cruise last fall I got all of my things ready for summer but he didn't even wash some of his !! I know I'm a terrible wife for not washing his clothes but he is a wonderful hubby who doesn't mind doing his own but he just can't think ahead.....

I'm still on track for my normal 90+ oz of liquids. I have my follow-up appointment with the surgeon today and hope to be released to start pureed foods. FINGERS CROSSED. I'm thinking positively, so I've already pureed a batch of egg "salad" - eggs, some mayo and spices. I'm dying to get on savory stuff vs. sweet.

I didn't do pureed foods. Not sure I could do that but then I didn't think I could do 2 weeks of liquids prior to surgery and I did. I started with oatmeal, refried beans, mashed potatoes but mostly liquids. I was afraid to eat solids for awhile.

Egg salad and other high protein pureed foods are the way to go!! I hope you are released to pureed foods! I remember thinking I would be and had to wait 2 days. LOL I was like, are you kidding me?!?! :) I was also ready to stop the sweet protein shakes! But now I have 1 a day and it isn't bad at all. Sometimes 2 if my protein is low for the day. Keep up the good work!
Gosh - if I remember correctly (long time ago and old brain fog) I didn't do pureed - I just chewed the bejeebers out of my food. I'm the bad example on here of what NOT to do ;) I didn't have any problems - just small bites chew into oblivion. Heck - I was eating sashimi 3 weeks after... and chewed. You should have seen the chef when I asked for a knife (because the pieces were HUGE)!
I also just did soft foods - I seemed to eat a LOT of refried beans w/cheese melted and salsa. Heck - that was a go-to meal for me for a long time (just because i liked it and it was easier to track). But I tend to stay away from carby stuff like that now.

Roz, have a great vacation. My husband does all our laundry. Some women cringe at the thought of their husband doing their laundry, but Max does a good job. I don't like the way he folds so I do that.
I'm still working my temp job. For the past 4 weeks I've been going thru agent files, cleaning them up and getting them ready for storage. It does get monotonous but it keeps me busy. It will probably be the end of June when this job finishes but I'm going to tough it out. We want to take a trip this fall so the extra money will come in handy.
Today's eats:
B1: Protein coffee
B2: Corozona bar with a smear of peanut butter
S: Premier protein
L: Bean Soup; yogurt
S: Protein bar
D: ?? might be breakfast or could be salad with protein

DH does his things and the towels. I get most of mine dry cleaned....I want to wear them a long time. Every time I think I have a little extra money something else goes wrong.
Sounds Good!

Ah sunny Fl. Went for Disney last year, great fun!
On puree, I skipped that phase mostly. Still ate the same foods just chewed them to mush (Soup, scrambled eggs, egg salad, chkn salad, seafood salad (my favorite)). Supposedly 20 chews per insy teeny bite is enough. I just couldn't get past the idea of puree.
Since we go every year we don't spend much time in Disney. We are going to try and get to Sea World this year.
I actually enjoyed the puree stage.
