Hey y'all! What all vitamins do you take? I have seen some posts about taking other vitamins in addition to a multi so I was just curious!

Right now, approved by my doctor, I take the Flintstones Complete 2x a day. I am actually supposed to be dropping down to one a day. I tried the Centrum chewables but could not stand the taste! Anyways- is there anything extra that would be beneficial to add?

Sorry, had RNY, I know supplementation is different for sleeves. I take 4 batches of supplements throughout the day. Multi, b complex, b12, calcium, magnesium, dry a, dry d, Vit c and iron, fish oil and coq10 and probiotics

I do think when you are able to, you will need something more complete than those.

Hope some one can give you more advice that is familiar with the requirements for the sleeve. I know it is less.

Wow. That is a lot! I know the issues are different for us both though. I do feel like maybe I should take more than a multi though. I agree I am sure I need more than Flintstones :)

I know my dietitian had told me to take a prenatal, but I just couldn't find a real good one over the counter. I just wonder if my PCP or ob/gyn will prescribe me one if that would be better.

Thank you for your response though! I feel like I would be taking vitamins all day if I took all that you do!! I already have to wait until later in the day to take mine now since I am on thyroid medicine, too.

I have thought about adding probiotics since  I have some IBS-C issues already. Do you get yours from a health food store? I know it is hard to find good ones.

You really don't want to know what vitamins and how many a DSr has to take!  lol

I have my husband on something similar to what a VSGr should take according to Vitalady because he low carbs with me. With any kind of WLS our systems are compromised and we really need extra vitamins.  Here's a link to her suggestions: http://www.gblcreations.com/Resources/Gina/ProgramAGB&VSG2-2 010.pdf

I take two chewable multi vitamins daily and have been doing so for a year and a half. All of my labs came back fine.

Like Maria, I was RNY and still take a bunch to keep my labs good.  I would suggest at least going to a better, more complete vit than Flintstones.  I used the CVS version of the senior Centrum chewable and I like the taste.  CVS does BOGOs all the time so they end up really cheap.  Did you have labs done before surgery?  Check your D3 because many of us start out low and need to bring it up which will take an additional supplement.

The only labs I had before surgery was at the hospital so I'm not sure what all they were testing. I also had bloodwork at the ER when I went in for dehydration right after surgery. I am not sure what all they tested but I know they said everything looked good. I don't think my surgeon will do blood work to be honest. I think I am going to get my PCP to check my panels.

I actually wasn't going to go with Flintstones but I compared it to the other vits and they were extremely similar. I am still taking two a day even though I was told I could stop and drop to 1 at 6 weeks.

I will be sure to have my D3 tested as well!
