Confused about Different Viewpoints
I tend to think some of the vets over there who have been around so long (not the LW Vets, you guys are great!) tend to get frustrated with the same questions over & over & over & over again, so they respond a little snarky sometimes. If they don't enjoy helping people then why do they bother to get involved? I would be willing to bet they just forget that us newbies everything is new and we have soooo many questions.... lol but I am so happy to be on this journey and have such a great support network, that I'll take the good with the bad!!!
I edited this after the fact to say, I do like posting there on occasion though. Mostly because we are a relatively small group compared to them and if you have question that might only apply to a small group of people you can likely get a hit by someone in that group there because they are a HUGE forum, and also because they give good info from a wide diversity of folks...

I am a regular lightweight lurker on the RNY board, with an occasional post here and there if I feel I have something to contribute. I have followed my surgeon's plan, which is 5-6 mini meals a day, at least 64 oz of water and at least 60g protein per day. He stated that I would probably need to supplement with a protein shake, and so far he is right. I don't necessarily make a shake per se, but use protein powder daily as a supplement to meet my protein needs. Since I weight train, this is particularly important for me.
I think it's difficult to know what makes anyone on this board respond to another poster in a certain way. I have gotten some very good advice and insight from several vets. I don't waste my time fretting about how any one person responded to someone else. That is why the block function exists. Snarky is in the eye of the beholder.
