I about cried yesterday when I was told that I am h Pylori negative.  Within the hour my paperwork was sent to my insurance company.  I'm being told that my insurance has a 72 hour turnaround, so now I'm just waiting again!

However, I did find out that once approved (Monday or Tuesday) I will get my date and start my 2 week pre-surgery liquid diet.

I'm treading these 2 weeks worse that the pain from the surgery.

Any food suggestions besides broth and protein shakes?

Hurray!!

Our pre-op was 4 weeks, 5 optifast shakes a day, one small food meal (4oz protein, 1/2c veggies, 1 small piece of fruit) and unlimited cukes and celery.  It was boring but ok and I knew the big prize was at the end.  the only hard part was the clear liquid day before surgery.  Then I thought I would die but I really didn't want to be sick during surgery so I made it.  You can do this!!!

On my two week pre-op diet I was allowed all liquids (so I "Juiced" and made some great healthy juices), I was also allowed jello, yogurt and smoothies.  I also enjoyed V-8's!  You can do this it's only two weeks and my guess is that in your life you've probably tried some fairly drastic and restrictive diets for longer than two weeks!  I also developed the habit of sucking on ice cubes that I've squeezed fresh lime over...so refreshing and a life saver after surgery! Bet wishes!
