My WLS dr sells syntrax but it is almost $50 a tub, on line 35.  Lucky Vit is the best place I have found to order the tub but you may want to order samples first to be sure you like them.  Once you are a year out or so, you can use syntrax matrix which is even cheaper and really good but not as many fruity flavors.  That is were the "mint cookie" we all rave about comes from.

Yeah. I have noticed that it is pricey. I'm wanting to try the fuzzy navel one the most.

You mentioned you didn't like sweets, I have found that the morning coffee (if you are a coffee drinker) syntrax capucino latte is my favorite of the day, I do make mine w/a scoop of the latte then add 1/2 scoop of the mint cookie but it doesn't really need the latter, it just reminds me of a mocha from starbucks, right down to the little bit of froth at the top.

Also Unjury protein chicken soup broth was huge at the very beginning for me.

I'm iffy on coffee. I had just started drinking it about 2/3 months before surgery but had to take it with a lot of creamer(hazelnut) haha. Before all of this I LOVED sweets, I think since all the shakes are so sweet and I wasn't getting anything savory I got a little burnt out. Hopefully since I am allowed pureed now I can balance the sweet and savory out again :)

I have a sample of the Unjury broth but never tried it.

Me too on the coffee, my hubby always joked, "would you like a little coffee with that cream"

If you like the hazelnut, you could do the latte w/ a squirt of the hazelnut sugar free syrup (I use Torani, there are a bunch of strings saying where to buy, but I got mine at World Market).  I start out w/8 oz SF almond milk (only 30 calories) warm it in the microwave to 120-130 dg, mush in the powder till no more lumps then add 6 oz ho****er to make it hot from my Kuerig which makes it handy.

But honestly it might have been too sweet in the beginning.  The unjury was my goto and even now I drink it late at night if its a low protein day as its very soothing and easy to get down. Speaking of which I shoulda had one last night but fell asleep on couch...

So 1 mth dr post op apt on Fri (yesterday).Threw my routine off.  He said my #'s were good but wanted me to eat more veggies...I'm hesitant due to the carbs & he said not to count them as they were empty calories and good "filler"...

But he did say good to go for exercise and said he thinks that's why I may have stalled this week, so if I want to keep going.... so not my favorite thing...

You are safe adding some veggies as long as they are the right ones.  Green beans, greens of any kind, brocalli, salad greens are very safe.  Mushrooms, onions, celery, all ok.  Just stay away from corn, potatoes, starchy ones.  A lot of folks eat refried beans early out with no issues.  I have to be careful because although I consider them good carbs because of the protein and fiber, they can slow me down and while I was losing, I avoided them.

Exercise.  Hummm.  the trick is to find something you love.  Walking, zumba, whatever.  I love my muscle pump class, but would have never guessed that I would like pumping iron at 66.  But it is my favorite class.  If you love it, it will be something you look forward to instead of something you think you HAVE to do.
